Default HELP!!! i need the advice of experienced engine builders...ring gap question..

OK, i just finished gapping my piston rings..i started with the second rings just becuase that was the set i grabbed first...they are JE .20 over pistons, according to JE specs for forced induction, i should have a ring gap of about 0.015", right?

well, here is my ring end gap specs when i measured with a feeler gauge:
Cylinder 1: 0.016"
Cylinder 2: 0.015"
Cylinder 3: 0.016"
Cylinder 4: 0.017"

Did i kill the rings? i was afraid i gapped them a little too much..will this affect oil comsumption? remember, that these are the SECOND rings, not the top ones...

BTW, the setup will be a B16 head/GS-R bottom end, supercharged JRSC 10psi, with NOS in the plans later on down the line...

Quick question what did you use to square the rings in the bore? (You are supposed to use a piston or a ring setting tool, and put them 1" down in there respectable bore)

i set the pistons 1" from the bottom of the bore...use a piston to push the rings down and square it off...that's what's recommended by everyone...

that's fine, you're between .005" and .006" per inch of bore.

You seem to be numerically within the tolerance level.
