I need help clocking my turbo. the compressor side moves, but not the turbine side, I want to rotate the middle part with respect to the turbine.
I already loosen all bolts, use pipes, etc. Help?

Re: Help in Clocking turbo (elpiar)
i had to do this last week, set the turbo on the ground and give it a hit on the center section with a hammer try to pick a meaty part like the side of the oil drain, mine just took one good smack and it came right apart. good luck

hammer, heat and PB blaster will help. To get the turbine loose of the CHRA, back out the bolts 1 or 2 turns then hold the compressor in your left hand with the turbine hanging down. Then tap the turbine housing downward at 3-4 points around the perimeter then try to tap it so it spins. repeat until its free or your arm is tired.

Ya, they stick all the time. I like to lock the turbo in a vise and use a pry bar down the turbine side to start wiggling it free. Hammer does just fine as well.

I made a long bar with a plate that bolts to the oil drain welded on one end. Works great with a vice & hammer for the stubborn ones.

Re: Help in Clocking turbo (Bailhatch)
FYI for those reading for help,
I finally managed to rotate it. To be exact, I actually popped the turbine housing our from the middle housing. The way I do this is by loosening the bolt near to the oil feed line. The head of the bolt will push against the oil feed flange. I also use a pry bar between the other bolt near the oil drain flange.
My machinist told me it's easier to pop it out than to rotate it.
Pop it out, cleaned the rust, and assemble it again. This is easier for me. Sorry, no photos.
