once in awhile these two cel come on and off..its number 17 (speed sensor) and 22(vtec sel)..when the speed dont work the 22 comes on..what do you guys think could be causing the problem?i hate this cel light because when it comes out , when i hit vtec range my car bogs outs..please help me.thanks

 

It may have to do that the ECU has to be over a certain speed before it will engage VTEC. I don't think it would throw that code though, but just not engage VTEC. I would say to check the VSS and the wires leading to them so that they didn't get pulled out of the sensor. That may solve both problems for you.

Double check your oil level too. Too little can cause your oil pressure to not be enough to engage VTEC with.

 

oil level fine..do u think if the speed sensor not working it will throw a 22 also?

 

check the fuse for the speed sensor... my friend had that problem, all it was a blown fuse and fix all his CEL... do you have o2 sensor or are you using that box i forgot what it was called....

 

i am using an 02 sensor..what fuse would the speed sensor be?
