See if you have fouled plugs at all, it sounds like your ingition is breaking up in the higher rpms. If plugs look good then I would test your dizzy. If you are not capable of testing the dizzy then I would just suggest swapping out a know good one of a donor car and see if it takes care of your issues.

I would go with nothing but OEM gasket...ARP studs are great...but I dont think your problem lies in the head lifting.

Well since your running a base map...do you have a wideband? Do you know where you are as far as AFR goes? Check fuel preasure if you can. The d16y7 is at peak VE around 4600-5000 stock and im sure on the t25 you are fully spooled by this rpm so if the car has tuning issues this will definately be the problem area. When a motor reaches peak VE it demands fuel and is touchy with ign timing. Was the car running good untill the colder months? If you want, e-mail me your bin so i can get an idea of where your at.

Re: help car hesitates after 5000 rpm (turbomoe)
you said you're on a basemap...
has it always done this or is it new?
Alot of basemaps are made with a fuel cut out at a certain psi , maybe this is your problem
