I need some help. I just got all of my turbo set up done. but the first time i went out to drive it, the bov wouldnt open up at all. Its an obx universal bov and it said its adjustable, but i dont know how to adjust it and it is def not working. I need to knwo who to get it to work asap. Thanks.

 

i know it sounds stupid but did you run a vac line to it. ? how much boost were you running when it didnt open?

stupid, but could deff be related if something was overlooked

 

yep vac line is on it and im runnin only 7 psi right now untill i can get it tuned for a little higher.

 

if you take the BOV off and try and push it open , will it open? Could have some surface rust or something or something sticking. If it doesnt open by hand, maybe spray some lube in there and loosen some **** up in there
Find the adjustability of it though. If there is no **** or screw it might need washers or lack of

 

I can push it up on my own, and i have washers for it but where do they go?

I think with like the Turbo XS style ones you take off the top of the BOV and put the washers over the spring and thne put the top back on?
I dunno for sure though. I never had one like that.

were you boosting the full 7psi and didnt hear it?

 

no there arnt any washers in it at all. and i doubt i was going all 7psi just like half/.75 throttle.

 

get on it hard at full boost and let off and see if it opens.
If the boost is not high enuff to really open it, then thats what the prob could be. 4-6psi isnt gonna make it loud

 

yea, but it should have opened up some ya know...but there was nothing..

 

but if its only at partial low boost you might not hear anything over your exhaust and turbo spooling.

 

do you have it teed off are you running it str8 to the intake manifold


i guess the real question is how do you have the vaccum lines?
