help, Bogging, BAD!!!!!
Hey guys, we just got done customizing my turbo parts into a friend's car. That thing is fucken bogging bad. It feels like your pumping on the gas. It only happens near vtec and when you floor it. Right when the vaccuum changes to boost. Help, we think it's a fuel problem. My other friennd said that it might be the fuel regulator spiking(it's a Jackson unit from a previous SC kit).
Here's the specs on the car:
95 civic EX
1.6L vtec
stock motor
Fuel:jackson racing FPR(we might think that's not enough)
walboro 255l pump
We tried some 310cc but it wouldn't idle out without a fuel controller(which we didn't have).
You guys think we should ditch the FPR and go for something like an inline pump and FMU???
Turbo parts:
t3/t4 .50 trim
b-series manifold made to fit d-series head
revhard intercooler
turboXS type H BOV
HKS .40 wastegate
custom 2.25" IC piping
WTF could it be???? We need to boost clean. Too much bogging

Is that JR thing an adjustable regulator or a boost dependent one? You definately need the boost dependent one like a FMU. It should idle no probles with those 310cc injectors.

black means rich, that is definetly what happens. Didn't your guage come with a manual on how to read it, maybe it's just common knowledge.

the FPR is adjustable and is not boost dependant...we were going to get one in the near future. Those 310's didn't want to idle in his car.
3 check valves and no CEL...
yeah, there might be too much fuel coming from the FPR, but the injectors should hold the pressure back.
Well, here's the outcome:
We figured it wouldn't hurt to retighten the bolts that hold the manifold to turbo. That cured the bogging problems. Turned down FPR to 45psi and plugs looked good.
One problem though. THe HKS wastegate has a max boost pressure of 6 psi, but at 7000rpms, it hits around 18psi every gear. Either it's creeping(which it shouldn't), we have it T'd to too many things, or the boost gague is way, way inaccurate(it's a mechanical autometer boost gauge).

yeah, that's what I'm thinking. When the car is off, the gauge sits at 0. Plus, I don't think it's the wastegate, it's an HKS and they have a good rep for not creeping.
You guys think it's the open downpipe? The dump tube is route back to the downpipe, but the downpipe ends right under the oil pan.
