Default Headgasket? Pics inside...

Looking for some input here...my car started overheating last week, and I pulled into my driveway before it got very high at all...checked the coolant and I was missing a really big amount. I checked the car running later, no leaks. Compression, 190 solid across. Plugs look perfect. Leakdown appeared fine, although my tester isnt the best so I will check again. Everything seems fine except for the loss of coolant. Oil appears slighly brown but VERY. VERY dirty, cannot see through a cup of it, and its only on 500 miles or so. Heres a pic of what I found under the valve cover. Any input would be appreciated...thanks!

i'm having the same issue right now........only pushing coolant into the overflow while in boost......started happening after I ran the timing a little to high at full boost without noticing it........it was pushing coolant badddddddd, then i retarded it and it still pushes but alot less.......

when i did a compression test it was fine

i've been told its the head gasket letting go......just not 100% gone yet

i'll be replacing the head gasket this week so we shall see......

Ive also heard of ARP studs relaxing, or maybe I possibly torqued them incorrectly, so I will check the torque on them tonight/tomorrow and with any luck maybe a quick retorque could do it. Wishful thinking, but hey, it helps!

I mean is it just me, or does the oil in the first pic look too brown/milky?

yeah thats usually a dead giveaway that the head gasket isn't sealing, is there bubbles in the cooling system?

Sup MikeNice
Always a bummer when S*** like this happens hey i got to go through the same stuff here very soon when we start my motor up . U are handling it very nicely. I would be flipping

Ill answer for him Quick I was right with him doing some of the testing and when he ripped off the valve cover. No bubbles in the Rad. And like he said it was like green sludge on the vavle cover . If u look at the second pic there is a line through the oil that was from my finger and i mean this stuff was thick.

Yo blackturboteg,

Im def tryin my best to not flip out and just take it easy. Theres always gonna be probs with a boosted car, and yeah man well def have our share with your car too. But f it, thats part of the game lol

Yeah like he said, I used my leakdown tester to pump air into the cylinders, no bubbles in coolant. No leakage anywhere. Only indications of anything possibly wrong is that gunk, dirty oil, and loss of coolant. Any more input anyone? Id like to get a good idea of the problem, because if its def the headgasket, id like to bang that out tomorrow. Of course, Id rather not so id like to be pretty much sure thats the prob...

Lol Mike the oil looks like poop or even worse .. and most likely the headgasket . Uve done plenty of test and all looking towards the headgasket. we will rip it apart and find the problem. and fix it. where did u get the other gasket and the 2mm differecne what does that affect? do u have to mod it?

and will i have to worry about my arp's relaxing and/or what can i do to prevent future prob?

do you think my ARP headstuds i have in there will be fine? if i just change out the gasket and re-torque them down?

what sleeves do you have in that motor?

ive been having constant problems like that with my aebs sleeves, especially last year. long story short, the hg wasnt sealing properly and it was mixing along the gasket

Well, I tore everything apart today and checked torque on headstuds. Did not appear off by much, or any. Hard to tell at that high of torque. I torqued a couple extra lbs and Im putting everything back together to see what happens.

Until then, I could use some more input..anybody?
