i just picked up this kit from a local guy after selling my old setup. im getting my bottom end built and needed something that was gonna be able to put down the power i want. only one problem. the manifolds turbo placement is gonna make running the rad hoses impossible it seems. anyone else have this mani? and if so did you run into the same problems? i thought it was weird that it even placed it on that side of the bay to begin with. on love fabs webpage it shows that manifold with the turbo placed on the drivers side. also i know the kit is for a eg chassis as all the ic piping fits. also in the pics everything is just mocked up not tightened down or anything i just wanted to see how everything fit esp with the backdoor i/c.

you could go with a full aluminium rad and have someone weld an elbow on it..

i dont have the sidewinder so that wasnt that much of a help. the dude told me he used some hardline and an. fittings but id like to see some pics of it done so i can get a better idea

I see no way around that downpipe unless he runs hard lines.

thanks for the replies. i have to choose the best method. i was looking online at aluminum flex rad hoses from earls and a few others but im not 100% sure what to get. i checked out the other threads as well. will basically any flexable rad hose work? i just want to get the right thing the first time

I was thinking that too. Unless they jb-welded it in there, I can't see how it would work.

the air isn't jsut going to go straight to the outlet, the ic will be pressurized almost instantly and the air will store flow within it due to the temp/pressure differences. I'd guess it'd still do a decent job with the cooling, however, it could of been done much more effectively, such as a variation of these:

That manifold looks like super duper ****!!! I HIGHLY DOUBT that is a lovfab manifold. Cody would not want his name associated with that thing.

Honestly bro, your going to be WAY better off with a standard ram horn manifold. That thing is gonna need ALLOT of bracing!

its stamped on there but i have never seen that manifold design either. it seems pretty damn sturdy ill have to see what happens in time. i think if i go with a earls flex hose i could run it under the turbo instead of like his and it wont be touching the turbo so it should be good.

From a design standpoint the manifold isn't bad at all. Equal length long runners. Tube size after the merge is a bit on the big side though. Good wastegate location. Turbo location leaves something to be desired, but it should be A/C compatible and if you can work out the radiator hose issues it should be ok.

I/C design is **** though. That is a dual pass design which has alot of pressure drop associated with it, meaning the turbo has to work harder to see whatever boost pressure is desired at the manifold. It would be nice to see a pressure gauge hooked up at the compressor outlet and also one hooked up at the manifold, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 7 to 10 psi differential. A better intercooler design for that application would be a top to bottom flow design and the inlet and outlet locations could still be located in the general area they are now.

yea the ic is a bit sketchy but its gonna have to do for now until i can get a different one. it came with the kit and i got it cheap so ill run it until i get something new sooner or later. looks like im gonna need to get some hardlines made
