Has anyone ever done this?
I was thinking of putting a coat of that truck bed liner stuff in my engine bay. It is all nasty looking in there and there is paint chipping up everywhere. Does anyone see any problem to this? Is it ok for that stuff to be in an engine bay where it would be very hot? And I was also thinking that the heat might not disperse from the engine bay because of the thickness of the bed liner, but I could be wrong.
It seems like this stuff would work well because you would never have to worry about it scraping off when you are tinkering under the hood so that is why I ask....
and I have this in this forum because I have a turbo and I figure the incresed temperature might effect it, but I could be wrong there as well....
thanks in advance

i was thinking weight might be an issue with this stuff but then again it will be in the front so it might help. i dont see a down side, other than i hope you dont want to ever paint it again, i am sure that **** is hard to take off.
It will be a little heavy, but a few punds isnt going to kill me. I just want it so I wont have to worry about scratching the paint off under there

You may want to call the LineX or Rhino and check to see what happens to the material when it get hot.... you don't want toxic fumes leaking into your cabin while you drive. I have this stuff on my truck and it kicks ***, but I am not sure what happens when you put it next to a hot manifold for a few hours.
