Default hardlines vs. braided lines for oil & fuel

thought about picking up a cheap pipe bender and some aluminum pipe stock, and running some hardlines rather then braided lines for any place I need to get fuel, oil, PS fluid, etc.

just wondering what the most common way for attaching hardlines is:

-threading the line and the place its going into, and using some AN fittings?

-threading the line and the place its going into, and running a rubber line the last inch or two?

Also, where could I find a pipe beader? Benders seem to be everywhere but I don't know how to bead it, or where to find the right sized tool.

any thoughts? This local shop has a twin-turbo BMW 540i, and the oil feed lines are hard aluminum lines... it looks really nice and secure. I just didn't get a good luck at how he attached to the turbo, block, etc.

hardlines seem like they would be more suceptable to failure from engine vibration etc.. during hard launches. thats just speculation though.

with hardlines, you can use a tube/nut setup and have an AN thread on the other end. I used that to connect stock fuel hard lines to the -6AN lines on my fuel line kit.

I sell the tube/nut crimp setup too

with the way i've seen engine move on dyno.. i'd be concerned with lines/pipes attached to it.. - braided would flex a little, while solid line would snap or crack..

anyone knows how factory eq. turbo cars have it done? (this is for the oil return/send)

most would have a hard steel lines with flex section in the middle about 3-4 inches.
