he won't need ****. Just rods and pistons.........and boost that baby to 40psi.....
exaggeration. But, seriously, rods and pistons and a good tune - he can go as high as he should need to.

First off - i thought it was already sleeved?
If its not sleeved, just go with the mahle goldseries pistons and some eagle h beam rods........you will be able to boost atleast 15psi with the sc61.......i wouldn't recommend an sc61 anyway.
Also, i thought this was your "friend?"
Here. Read this thread. Talks about the Mahle GoldSeries pistons

You don't have to sleeve the block.
Also, I recommend a Garrett t3/t4e 60 trim .63 a/r turbo
The more your bore out the cylinders - the thinner the walls will be - meaning they'll become weaker. Just go 87.25mm bore. Thats .25 over factory. They have 87.25 mahle pistons.

eagle rods arias pistons and acl bearings should have no problem with that setup as for how big of piston you can run it depends on who sleeved it

Re: (BB6-213)
If your intentions are to make 400-500whp without a budget , I would keep the standard bore of 87mm , but no higher than 89mm( with aftermarket sleeves) to ensure the block is strong. Eagle rods are known to withstand 600whp all day for a cheap rod , and as far as pistons I'd recommend cp pistons since their proven reliable and strong . Many people run acl bearings since their cheap and reliable. I'd stick with the sc61 since that turbo is a blast with the h22 , Ive been running this turbo combo for the last 6 months ,and I plan on sticking with it. If budget is a reality then look into the mahle gold series piston since this piston is a direct swap without sleeving. The only problem with mahle is , we still dont know how long they will last under extreme heat. I'm currently pulling my motor to give this cheap route a try. My goal is to hit 450whp on stock sleeves , but only time will tell.

I like and run the cp pistons, but I run the pauter rods. I would recommend head studs also. Stay with the sc61, thats what i have also, very fun setup. should be around 500whp at about 20 psi. I put down 406whp on pump gas at 14psi. I also use oem honda bearings.

Thanks for your advice. My buddy is spending his complete Income tax on this set up. And About $3000 He has saved up now. We thought that this build would cost in the $6-8 thousand range. So far we just have the Sleeved block and H22a head. But plan on buying more parts next week. We just wanted to get some info from members that have Tried or have Completed this Kind of Project before we start.

Just a thought. I would get the 880cc injectors because I've heard that hondata has some problems with 1000cc+ injectors. I'm a hondata man myself - own the s300 and its great. Just a thought

Re: (BigBlock)
hondata doesn't have an issue wtih 1000s, i've tune a good amt of cars with them, pops a little at idle but still runs fine.
sleeve block, bore to 89mm cp/je pistons, manley rods, arp mainstud, arp headstuds and you have a block ready for anything you wnat to throw at it. get a walbro 255 high pressure and some sort of engine management, a aeromotive FPR and 1000cc injectors and be set to run up to 550-600whp. sc61 is a fun turbo on those cars, spool quick and you can get hella powerband if you have a built head.
