boost leak most likely...ive heard of people having slits in tubing that only leak after reaching a certian psi. try pressurizing the intake.

hey liam i was wondering whats ur view on using 550cc instead of 440 rc's or the 450 dsm...will the afc idle the 550 ok or are they too large????....i have the dsm 450 now but i want sum new injectors and should i move up to 550cc just to be safe...also whats the HP max can u run with the 450...im pushing 220 right now with 12 psi tuned on my sohc using the 450cc...and its all rich throughout the rev band in the 12's...

liam,

is it better to retard the stock ignition timing a bit to be safe? is 2 degrees safe enough or should i go with 3 degrees? i heard that with the hack, the ignition timing will be advance.

i know that at my altitude, the honda ecu wont idle 550cc injectors. you'd have to get some kind of standalone.

yea, knock it back 2-3 degrees if your running like 8 psi or less. the hack will cause ignition advance, but not under boost, cause when it's boosting the ecu sees full map voltage.

(i actually was asking liam about this the other day)

so basically on a stock b16 i can run my drag t3/t4 kit with NO check valves and NO missing link with stock injectors and ignition system and stock map sensor? i mean i want hondata but if this can work safely on 8 psi like i want i will do this to save money.

also i have been looking through about all 7 pages skimming for a post that had the best settings for the vafc but i found so many different ones. can some one post a list of the exact settings for this setup please that would help out so much.

id never run the afc hack because of the rediculous amount of timing it adds.

advancing the timing? well couldnt this be solved be retarding it slightly?

also what ecu is best recomeded with the afc hack? i have a P28 chipped with the jun program, wil this cause problems with the afc hack? or do i need to get a stock DOHC vtec ecu like the delsol P30

Iam running the hack on my 94 gsr and i am not runing an o2 sensor and the car runs 10 times better. But befor i got it tuned there was tunes of hesation and it was real jerky just did seam right.well with the wideband in place we left the stock o2 unpluged and did the tunning the a/f is 1.0 lamba out of boost and .8 in boost so it a good tune and the part throtel a/f is good to we spent about 3 1/2 hours on it to make shure it was good and its ben great for me at 11psi daily drivin. Then i put the stock o2 back in and the car was back to runnin closed loop and there was the hesation and jerkyness was back to it felt shity so it unhooked the o2 and it runs great so thats how it ben for about a mounth and still runs like stock.

well..im installing my kit soon..i I'll be running the FMU/missing link/SAFC until i am ready to buy my injectors and take it down to jotech to get it tuned for AFC hack. I actually just got off the phone with Tony from jotech, and he said for the FMU missing link I'll need the highpressure INLINE pump..and for the afc hack, i'll need the high volume INTANK pump. If i am going to run the FMU/missing link until i can take it down to jotech, would running the high volume intank pump be fine?

Thanks for all this informative stuff....

it seems everyone who used this was on a turbo but if I'm to use if on the jrsc for the D16Y8... can I use the stock fuel pump and injectors? and what about the JR FMU? do I have to remove the FMU?....

Thanks for the help!

I don't think so, I think this is going to be my only option. It appears that this works for everyone, and it's not too rich. We will see...
