You can find distributors that will bolt on with two bolts - really all you need. From there it is just wiring. You could also convert to OBD0 and run Zdyne, that would be an easier wiring solution. I thought you were looking towards cheaper alternatives, like keeping the AFC and running a 3 bar sensor and doing something different for your ignition control.

no no no no no. I AM telling you to wire it up as normal. 100% normal AFC wiring. No MAP into the TPS on the afc computer. Thats just doesnt work right.
This is what im talking about.
AFC wired 100% stock outa the APEX manual
450cc DSM injectors (or something big like that)
AFC set at -40% in high and low settings
*NO* missing links or check valves on the stock honda map sensor
thats it. no other mods. You lower the map input so much with the afc you allow yourself room on the honda ECU for boosting around 10psi.
Ya follow?

what is the -40 percent setting in the high and low. i have a vafc it hooked up normal. where should i set this -40 at. it has wide throttle setting and narrow setting where and which one do i set it to or am i really confuse.

I didn't realize Zdyne could work with my car. The car is currently OBD0/pre-OBD0...
Pehaps that's another option now. If I could get the AFC and 3bar to take care of fueling, then I'd be set - ignition won't be a problem.

Long story short, I've changed from my original set-up of a bone stock LS with 8-10psi to a built LS with JE 8.5's with Eagle H-beams and Golden Eagle sleeves on 18-25psi. BTW: the Eagle H-beams don't weigh 515g as Eagle publicises. They're 525g to 525.6g each and the JE 8.5:1 stock bore pistons are 263g each (one of my 4 weighed 262g).

I have much real-world experience. I've worked for a racing company for 4 years where my job entailed engineering stroker packages, cam packages and tuning on FI'd cars. During my time there, I've spearheaded thousands of hours of rewriting ECU functions and Mass-air transfer functions with nothing other than circut jumpers, diodes, and hex to the point where I could get nearly any Ford ECU to work with nearly any other car despite the number of cyls and manifold conditions with nothing other than the EEC and a pinout diag. in hand. In any case, the company was still getting off the ground so I agreed to work now and accept pay when things picked up. My responsibilities (still with minimal pay) went up and business eventually did pick-up 2 years later and they still didn't pay anything near what they described so I left on December 16th 2003. I also didn't agree with their business practices so it was no real loss of anything but time. I don't keep in contact with the owner(s), but I'm under the impression that they've gone under.

You must have thought long and hard on that Grade-A cop-out. Any other excuses? Are your keys too small, or your chair too uncomfortable? Mouse too heavy?
Are you outright incapable of admitting to being tragically incorrect, or did you assess the impending damage to your ego when trying to mentally spar with me in a battle you're simply not yet equipped to handle? That makes 3 times I've openly given you the opportunity to dare open your mouth and say "okay, show me where I was wrong" and you were wise enough to run for cover every time. Good dog.
At first I tried to explain it with empathy, but now I'll just humilliate you for your ignorance.

Actually..all of the reasons you, dustin, and FalconGSR stated that it won't work are all reasons that simply did not apply to the basic function of the components. It's really not that hard, you simply don't understand it. Once again, I haven't seen one valid reason yet.

Well, lets break this down: Netsearch. I searched for "Zener Diode" as a topic. Nothing at all. Searched for it as it appeared within posts, and not once did anyone EVER try it. Just spoke of it and others who didn't know what that person was talking about simply diverted from it or never responded rather than seeking information because much like your self; They simply didn't know how it works. This is why Falcon GSR hasn't responded with the requested zener/RRR links yet, because they simply do not exist. I'm sure he'll completely ignore it ever happened though and respond with something off-topic.
Now, Reality: I've done this zener mod on at least 15 different makes and models of cars over who-knows-howmany years. Most were mine, and quite a few belonged to friends and only a few to customers. Does it work? Hell yes. Like I said. I can show you a multitude of cars that are absolute beasts that use the mod at any given moment. You can e-mail the owners and see if it works, lol.

Who cares. I suppose this was intended to make me say "oh man...people make fun of me?!". Lol, big deal. Get more moderators in it so I can spray one fat bucket of **** on all of them once it's installed on yet aonther car. The taunts don't faze me. Everyone that's tried to do something different from the main stream always gets ridiculed. Hell..look at the engieers for the rotary engine. It was always the guys that don't understand it that thinks it won't work.

Hey, Jerky, you do realize I have most of an EE? AS FALCONGSR STATED: go play with a nice PS, an o-scope, and a Zener, and watch how it enters into reverse breakdown. Note how it does not behave as you think it does. I am well aware that many people - like the mini mopar guys - have been fond of using a zener as a clamp over the years, but if you ever stick a wideband on one of those cars you'd know why it's not a good idea. There is nothing razor sharp or precise about it.
There is a reason people are able to put out 500 whp on stock bottom end GSRs for short period - it is because they don't use FMUs, and because they don't advocate patchwork quilt style hacks that **** your ignition maps to the point you have no control over them and there is nothing you can do to get control over your ignition. Unless you wanted to throw away the setup you advocate.
Now, dumbass, let's break netsearch down real simple for you. You want complete and total razor sharp control of fuel and ignition curve for pennies? A better setup that controls both fuel and ignition for less than the price of your bullshit fuel no spark controlling rig job? I already linked your dumbass to pgmfi.org, but I suppose the big words you found there hurt your little pin head - like I said, arguing with you is pointless.
A good illustration of your ignorance, to freshen the minds of those around us:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Sure. I actually used the incorrect part described above. Instead of a pot, use a Zener Diode. Diode NTE5068A in particular. This with the accompanyment of a RRR = unimaginable tunability</TD></TR></TABLE>
Here's was the very first example of your revisionist view of history - I had just jumped on you about how AFCs are not voltage dividers, that a voltage divider skews its output as the MAP output voltage dynamically changes. So, here you go stating that you meant a NTE5068A, not a potentiometer.... well, jerky, you must tell us how a Zener can be used in a voltage divider, how an AFC is like a Zener, and how a Zener that undergoes reverse breakdown at 4.3 volts @ 58 mA is relevant to ANYTHING on a forced induction Honda running your ill-advised setup?
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Do yo realize that no fuel solution is exact?? If you ran 18psi with 14.7psi, granted you'd be stoich and therefore "exact", but you also have zilch room for error. 11-10:1 AFR = not exact is it. Even if your point is that "it's not an exact fuel solution", it's like learning to fire a gun who's barrel is slightly askew. You know how much over your target it is, so aim to suit. </TD></TR></TABLE>
This one was making me laugh real hard. I infer he means 14.7 AFR, not psi, but with this loon who knows? The jackass states you can run 18 psi boost with a 14.7:1 AFR and you'd be exact but have no room for error... uh, 14.7:1 AFR under boost is a big fat error, Jerky.
C'mon class, spell it with me: F - U - C - K - T - A - R - D
