30% is probably too low. Put it at 40% and see if it better.

If you need the extra fuel, use a fpr.

I assumed you felt you needed more fuel by backing down on the afc because that's what your doing when you stepped it down to 30%.

yeah i think i need more fuel but i am not to sure if it is fuel or timing i am going to get a timing gun tommorow and see where its at because when i try to retard it when i get in high rpms it stars breaking down and backfiring and i am also not sure if the sensor type setting is right because i have it on hot wire with 1in and 1out is this right?if not what does it need to be set on. is -30% enough torun 10psi or do i need it at -35% to not through a cel. i have a air fuel gauge and i know the are not all that accurate but when i get in high rpms it goes all the way into lean is that normal? so for so many ?'s but i have been messing with this for like 4 days now and it is pissing me off plus this is my 3rd motor and i dont want to blow it up. i am just trying to get everything done before sunday night cause i wanna smash this kis camaro ss. with this setup i should be able to run at least low 12's high 11's but it keeps breaking down in high rpms

i do understand the hack the problem was my timing was to far advanced i got a timing gun today and checked it and it was like 10 degrees advanced so i retarded it now it is driving fine. but i am still not sure what the sendor type should be on i am gonna try 6 in and 6 out tommorow and see what happens, that is the only thing i really dont understand is the sensor type if you could tell me i would be greatly appreciated i just dont know what that is exactly doing.

At this point in time no one should really be running this. I had a friend that just had his car street tuned on chromepro for 150bucks. That was by a "pro" tuner too. Its so much safer and yields so much more power than the hack. It was great for its time. I even ran the hack back in the day. But its time is over. There are MUCH safer and basically easier solutions.

So no one should be running this hack anymore. Was it proven to be unsafe or is it outdated?

For the price of a vafc, you can get a chipped ecu with a basemap.

Then if you want to get into the DIY craze, simply download crome for free & make modifications to your basemap...

IMO vafc is a waste of time & money when we have crome, uberdata etc....

there's nothing wrong with the hack when done right. i ran it for almost two years with no problems what-so-ever. made 257whp at 6.5psi. i did blew my ringlands tho... but not because of the hack, it was because of a faulty boost controller. spiked to over 11psi.
