GT35R v. T3/T67, which better for 400 whp?
I've come around to getting rid of my turbo setup I had intended to run on my Se-R and I'm looking to buy a bunch of new parts, including a new turbo. SR20Forum isn't much help when it comes to specific turbo information so I figured I would ask here.
How big is a difference between a GT35R and a t3/t67 with comparable specs? I've noticed a lot of people run the t3/t67 and make 400+, while most people I see with the GT35R are running in excess of 500 or more. Any reason for this?
I'd like to purchase either of these for my next setup, I just don't know how to read compressor maps or anything like that to compare. Someone shine some light on this for me

If you can afford the gt35r go with that one... It is a bad *** turbo. I use to run the t3/t67 and it's a really good turbo aswell, but once you go ball bearing you won't go back.
I've seen dyno charts of both on almost identical setups. The torque curve, and hp are pratically the same up to a certain point. The gt35r just made the power sooner. Alot of people say that the spool is only like 700-800 sooner, but when you factor in the fact that it also makes 100 or so hp sooner. That's a big deal in my opinion.

I go with GT35R for the simple fact that it's fuggin nice and the exceptional efficient turbo it is. 10 second turbo.

the gt2871 is also rated to 400hp, but that would be maxing it out and might be pushing hot air at that point, but i bet the spool time would be amazing

we now have a ballbearing t3/to4R (t67)
for a street car with a 400whp goal, i would recommend looking into the gt3040R.
the GT3040R uses the gt30 turbine wheel mated to the 61mmGT35R compressor wheel.
the smaller turbine wheel will allow for much better reponse.

For a 400whp goal I think they are both too big , you should consider smaller turbos.

i am an exception to that rule.
i had a t04b ball bearing, and went with a t3t67 h.o. but either turbo will get you to your goal.

100% stock SR20 with stock cams, just our stage 3 kit (t3/t67) and intake mani change.

from garrett specs
GT30R will support 520 hp. GT35R will support 620hp. this is probably HP from the crank not the wheels

they are rated by the compressors and its not a tthe wheels but those numbers arent accurate..i did 654 on a t3 35r
