Default t3/t67 vs gt35r

hey guys.

Which of the two are better in your opinions? If you can help me with the specs when they apply, that would be very helpful also. Thanks.

500-550hp street car goal.

i am interested as well on the specs of a gt35r. How much whp are they rated for and do they spool much quicker than a t3t67?

gt35R
compressor specs: TO4S housing
TO4S: .70a/r
compressor wheel trim: 56 trim wheel
compressor flow: 60 LB/MIN
turbine specs:T3
.63 a/r, .82 a/r or 1.06 a/r
84 trim wheel

t3/t67
compressor: TO4R
.70 a/r
66.5mm inducer
flow: 75 lbs/min 960cfm
360* thrust bearing standard
turbine: T3
your choice of .63a/r or .82a/r housing
your choice of stg3 or stg5 turbine wheel.

the gt35r is dual ceramic ball bearing and the t3/t67 is not, and since the gt35r is smaller it will spool faster but does not have as high of a boost threshold as the t3/t67

how much higher of boost threshold does the t3/t67 have over the 35r. I know both are capable of hitting 500hp. would you prefer the 35r then? That would give you a better band wouldn't it?

gt35r is more than capeable of producing 500whp, but you may be able to hit 500whp with less boost in the t3/t67.
personally i would go the the t67 since its alot cheaper and would take less boost to reach my goal. but you would have a better powerband and a faster spool with the 35r
the t67 would be more of the kind of turbo that once it started spooling you better hold on tight, cuz its gonna slam you pretty hard

yeah. i had my mind set on the 67, but i could get the 35r for about $500 more. So I thought if it was worth it, go for it. That's why I'm trying to get some opinions. I'm still like 75% go with the 67, and 25% go with the 35r.

My powerband is great with a T3/T67 .63 A/R. Just ask the blown Z06 that I drug from a slow roll last night

cool. How much horse are you making? Boost? Estimate please if you do not have dyno figures. Thanks

What car is this set up in?

15 psi on pump gas without meth, I can run 22-24 psi on pump gas spraying methanol but it doesn't hook up for **** even on 25" slicks so I usually drive it at 15 psi. From the way it pulls and other dynos I've seen i'd guesstimate it in the 430-450 WHP range at 15 psi. Setup is 81.5mm GSR, 10:1 comp, fully ported head, victorX IM, aem ems, in a full weight EG hatch.

I have a t3/t67 w/ .82ar and stg5 wheel and at 11.5psi and no dyno time I ran my boys Ford lighting that runs 12.0 from a 40mph roll and i pulled on him by about 4-5 cars by the time i was half way through 4th (should be making around 400whp on pump w/ only 11.5psi)

the 60-1 flows more then the gt35r and its about $500 more

the 60-1 flows 58lb/min not much but more

Care to elaborate how you think 58 is a bigger number than 60?

Either way, The 56 trim wheel has made 600 WHP, i've never seen a straight 60-1 wheel do that.

FWIW I was in the same boat as you, T3/T67 vs. GT35R. The T3/T67 was significantly cheaper, and doesn't spool much if any slower than the GT35R, so I went the economical route.

Maybe you're thinking of Rondigs or vic/boostedb20vtec? They both made in the range of 540 WHP with T3/60-1's, that's the highest I know of on this board.

no you must be a newbe on this borad back in the day uglyasscivic(Cortney Green) went 10.30@138mph with a t4 60-1 and dynoed around 640whp

he changed to a pte sc61 t4 and went 10.15@142 all the old school poeple knows him on this borad

keep in mind the gt35r will be alot more efficiant than a 60-1 because of the dual ball bearing center section, the turbine wheels, and bouth housings

640 to the tire unless that's a Q-trim 60-1 with a big housing and some nitrous that seems pretty out there to me. High altitude + big time SAE correction, maybe? Rondigs/Vic made 540 WHP right around 27-28 pounds of boost. The 60-1 wheel is most efficient at much lower boost levels, like 14-15 psi is in the bread and butter of it's efficiency zone, so pushing 35+ psi to hit 640 would be seriously overworking that turbo.

And my bad i didnt look its 608whp and no nitrous and on a 81mm bore think the boost is right around 30psi maxing the turbo out , and i think he said back then its only a p-trim

I think quick spool is just gonna mean losing traction earlier. A little lag is fun and cheaper. keeps you in suspence t3/t67
