Default GT3071R on a GSR???

i have a gsr with built bottom end and itr cams and plan on buying a peakboost kit asap jus fighting with what turbo to use? i kno the gt2871r spools quick and wud be in my hp range cuz im looking for around 300-350 whp but i want the turbo to keep pulling through the powerband. i wanna have a usauble powerband tho obviously. and am curious to see when poeple hit full boost with a GT3071R on a GSR but also other blocks to??? im looking for 10 psi for right now and will rev to 8,000 maybe a little more..... Also thinking if i got a smaller ar that wud help the spool too cuz alot of them have like .86 ar ??? tell me what u guys think. i wud greatly appreciate it

I run the GT3076R .82 (84mm gsr, portflow head w/ itr cams) with a full race kit. Full boost at 5200rpm. It is a great turbo if you want 500+whp but still have quick spool for the street. I like how cruising on the interstate you can boost in 5th gear pretty easy. No need to downshift into the 5k+ powerband. For a medium sized turbo I think you will be happy with the performance. The 71R is going to be about 200-300rpm quicker spool but will make probably just short of 500 which is still overkill for the street. Good luck with everything. Oh and I made about 350whp @ 10psi.

I'm running the precision 3076r on my fully built 83mm gsr...the turbo spools really fast even though I'm running the biggest exhaust housing available...1.06ar I believe. I'm only running about 8psi and making about 340whp. I'm waiting for a 44mm wastegate now because the 35mm I have on there isn't cutting it and i'm having boost creep issues. After I get the wastegate I'm hoping for over 400whp on pump and over 500 on C16.

Well, I just drove the car and i'm not really sure when I hit full boost...don't really pay much attention to it. It's roughly around 5000rpm....I'd have to do a log with my ems to really check for sure. I used to have a t3/t04e turbo on my old setup and they feel pretty similar when spooling except now I have 50 more Hp at almost half the boost pressure.

I love the GT3071R, even in a .86A/R T2 setup. It has the midrange I'm looking for without having to worry about a lot of need for topend. I didn't even have to change from my old Greddy manifold on my oldsetup. It's a blast to drive in my 10.0:1 static compression
