Default GSR Turbo?

Im thinking about boosting my gsr, i found a drag turbo kit for a very good price i usually like to keep my car NA but i cant turn this offer down so my main question is will boosting a gsr with a usdm type r tranny harm my motor? Keep in mind im planning on running low on boost my only concern is the high revving of the type r tranny. Running all motor and driving the car on the freeway feels like the motor is gonna explode since it rev so high so i can only imagine how it is if i go turbo. If its a bad idea i'll probably just sell the kit, any opinions will be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time

well even if its turbo your revs wont change on the highway. they will only be affected under boost which in turn just means you will need to shift faster. once its on there you will love it though. im looking to boost my gsr on low boost and keep my ac!

A Drag kit is a decent setup for your stock block GSR. It isn't the best, but it'll get the job done. You'll be fine with the ITR tranny...that has no effect on the turbos performance on your engine other than you'll spool later due to the shorter gearing and less load at lower rpm. With a good tune on a sufficient octane fuel, you shouldn't have any problems. I ran my stock block GSR ~300+whp for 2 years without issue.
