gsr or ls internals
ok im getting to the point where im going to start taking my motor out to start building it. now iv been learning more and more and im wondering if doing ls internals in a gsr block is really worth it. at this time i only have pistons and im aboout to buy rods and iv been searching the topic allot but i still need 4 more posts to be a full member lol. so questions about how much more torque and hp can u expect out of an ls vtec, can i still rev my engine to 9000 rpm, is there anything i should know befor going into this, and would it just be safer and more reliable to just keep it a straight gsr. thanks guys
Gsr internals are stronger than ls internals. Also you has to run ls crank with ls pistons and rods. Your of really building a motor if its stock just leave it alone. Unless you just left out info.
now.. the reason i am considering going with ls rods and crank is because they are longer giving you more stroke technicaly adding horse and torque i just wanted to know if anyone seen a stock gsr and ls vtec on the dino. a proper ls vtec gsr block with ls internals. i havent baught my rods yet and if the power gain was worth it i was just goin to buy ls rods and pick up an ls crank and go that route. any usefull information would be nice.
Stock gsr revisit is 8200 and valve float becomes an issue with rpm without supporting mods. Go back to the drawing board. Do research and find out what's really needed and then come back and work on the setup

About 10ft/lbs-15ft/lbs of torque no real power increase given the same compression and other hard parts equal. Revving to the moon doesn't necessarily mean any more power under the curve where its most important.
Many on here use RPM high limits for shock value for those that do not understand these engines.
