gs-r turbo
before anyone gets all but-hurt and says the infamous "SEARCH IT" phrase. let me say I DID!
ok now that i got that out of the way. my question is:
i have a gsr that will soon be going away for a rebuild. my plans are to turbo it and was wondering what if any parts should i re-inforce, buy new, or just swap out? should i stick with oem pistons or do i get low compression? my goal is dd 250-300hp. i've seen it done and i hear alot of people are doing this with totally stock internals. oh and is it possible to run this setup with a/c?? i've got mixed answers saying yea i can and they have proof, but don't help me out with the kit they got or how they did it. thanks!!!

Re: (93dagsr)
Please remember that you're doing something that the engine wasn't originally designed to do, even though it is easily done on the stock internals. It is best to use forged components (even turbocharged FACTORY CARS use forged components) and go from there. The crank can be stock but for that hp level, and the fact that you're going to break down makes things a bit easier. Lower compression helps with the tune, but not entirely necessary. Many would agree that 9.2 - 9.5:1 pistons would be the best to use to keep response and acceleration high. with a GS-R Head, it would almost bump you back up to stock compression.
PM me with questions about what turbo to use based upon your goals and what you're trying to acheive.
