It's not any safer than turbo, but your car should be fine with it.
The only reason your car would be "safer" is that it is hard to made power with a JRSC. less power = less likelihood of breaking something. For a similar result, get a small turbo kit and run like 4-5psi of boost

i dont recommend jrsc for gsr, not that much power gains compared to turbo setup. I was in same situation as you . I was going to go with jrsc and after doing research realize greddy turbo was best bet for me. More power off the bat especially top end. Im very satisfied i went with greddy turbo than jrsc. I say sell the jrsc and buy a greddy turbo kit. Pulls nice and hard after 4 ka nd great low end also.

yeah, stay away from the JRSC. Its a tease, you'll want more power before long and it has very little upgradablity. I had one for two years before I realized Turbo is the only way to go on small displacement motors.

Just to give you a idea... my friends gsr made 200hp/150ft @ 6psi with the fmu. He road races it all the time and the compression is still same as it was n/a.

we put crome on a jrsc gsr and street tuned it. i wouldn't mind having that setup for a nice daily driver. but if you're actually trying to go fast and maybe race with it, its not the best route. pretty much, its slow. nice response low end, but thats bout it. also, they run pretty hot on the IAT's.

you should be good with a jrsc.
my friend has one with header and exhaust and is hitting 13.7 in a full interior integra gsr with cheap *** street tires. using the jr fmu also
not everybody wants to make a **** load of power and if your one of those people, i think the JRSC would be a good choice....
if you don't like or want more later down the road, you can sell it and get a turbo kit.
