Greddy Turbo Manifolds Cracking ???
Anyone here ever have their Greddy Manifold crack??
I'm going to be pulling mine off very soon. What mods should I do to it to help prevent it from cracking?
Thank you.

Re: Greddy Turbo Manifolds Cracking ??? (TommyV)
My manifold was cracked when I bought it used. It's the B-series manifold. It had about a 1 inch crack betweeen the 2 and 3 runners on the side that faces the head when mounted. My buddy Jeff C. ground down the area around the crack and welded it up.
That was in September and I haven't had problems since.

Did he do anything to help prevent it from cracking again?
I have seen you can cut down the middle of the stud holes to help it expand when it gets hot, and bore out all the stud holes except for the middle one too, does it work or is it worthless.

I have been running a d series one for over a year and before that it was far from new. I know it was on at least a few different cars. Mine does not have any cracks and I take it off all the time.

Nope. We threw around the idea of putting vertical slits in the bolt holes and between the runners but never got around to doing it. As I understand it, the previous owner of my manifold ran his setup VERY lean creating more heat than usual. I suspect that's why mine cracked.
If I planned to keep the manifold forever, I would put slits in it to accomodate for heat expansion.

Re: (XDEep)
Alright, now after reading the linked thread above I am confused.
There seems to be a lot of ideas flowing.
- Cutting part of the bolt hole
- Enlarging the bolt holes
- cutting the actual flange??
Clarifications please?

That log manifold you need to worry about. I have a 4-1 cast turbo manifold.....so it should have even heat distribution. But then , I don't have a Greddy manifold.
