you don't "NEED" a gasket, but it will make a better seal if you have one.

if u talking about the O2 housing the and turbine housin
YES
its a 1 layer, metal thin one
it will provide a better seal and avoid freaking exhaust leaks

No, its the part on the side that has the downpipe connection.

If you're going to use a dsm o2 housing, or buy a flange to mount there, then you should pick up a metal gasket from Mitsubishi. They are only like $5.

I see what you mean. The o2 is going in the top of the exhaust mani. So then no gasket then? Wont there be leaks and be louder?

I'm not referring to the o2 itself, but the o2 housing that mounts up against the turbo. You should buy a gasket, and it should go between the turbo and the o2 housing, unless you buy a flange and have your dp welded directly to that, in which case you should still use a gasket in between the turbo and the flange.

yeah theres a pipe that merges those two holes(the wastegate dump, and the exhaust turbine) into one pipe, it'll have a hole in it for an o2 sensor, just plug that.
and yes, there IS in fact a gasket that goes between this and the turbo.
you should be able to get all this from http://www.dsmtrader.com,
maybe you can get a new gasket from a mitsubishi dealer?

yeah but those guys at dsmtrader.com usually want like $50 for their o2 housings, and if you found one at a junkyard it would surely be cheaper than that. Like I said before, the gasket from the dealer is only like $5

Theres a 1 inch thick adapter peice between the turbo and the ex mani. Im going today to get that welded to the turbo but should I get the mani welded to the adapter cause I wouldnt know were to get a gasket for that part, its not dsm or anything.

I'm very confused about what you are saying.
Here is what you should have: The turbo has two different parts, the turbine housing and the O2 housing. The turbine housing has one inlet on the top (from the manifold) and two outlets on the side (one for the wastegate, and one for the turbine outlet).
Then there is a seperate piece called the O2 housing. The O2 housing attaches to the side of the turbine wheel, and take the two outlets and combines them into one. It also turns down about 90 degrees, so that the exhaust is now pointed under the car.
Between the O2 ans turbine housings, you need a gasket. Between the O2 housing and downpipe, you need a gasket.

Re: (kholmes)
ok, another ? on gaskets. I situated the downpipe with a gasket and today I had the adapter plate that sits between the ex mani and turbo welded to the turbo. As far as the ex mani attached to the adapter plate any ideas on how to seal that? Or will it be fine just bolted together. Theres a gasket sheet you can buy at the auto place thats for headers. Would that work if needed?
