i agree with Nikolai, age means squat this day and age. this whole fault seems like a big pile of miscommunication... also id go easy on c-redrum; did he say "daddy bought my motor for me and it bwoke"... didnt think so. the chances are low that he spent his own hard earned money on the block, but i said low. low still means possible. btw , until c-redrum makes a statement about who earned the money that was spent on his block it is none of anyones business but his. flaming him for that without any kind of backup is plain old ignorant... but i guess if you're ignorant, then you're ignorant and nothing can be changed.... so under those circumstances flame on, but you might as well be talking to a wall...imo

happy holidays

::edit::-- to: golden eagle mfg. ; sorry to hear about this bashing... i am 17 also, and i am very analitical (sp) and i know that everyone else my age doesnt understand empathy too well, so he probably had no idea that he was about the drop a bomb.... HT is a serious place of business and everyone should treat it as such.. thanks

Still doesn't cover the fact you guys never e-mail people back. Nor do you ever give a straight answer to prices, or the price break down. GE may do good work, but their customer service blows goats.

Well here we go, the long awaited post from Golden Eagles #1 Villian at the time, C-Redrum.
First of all, let me address how I pay for all of this ****. I am a server at a restaraunt which I work about 4 or 5 nights a week, average about 90-100 bucks in tips a night, very good business, I get money quickly, and spend it quickly but sometimes I tend to save. I had alot of savings at the time when my motor was blown and I decided to spend them on this rebuild. The money was in an account which my I needed my Father to access as well as me, so I had to consult him about taking out the money. He said yes, then comes my rebuild.

I will admit that I do not know everything about tearing apart and building motors, but I do read alot on Honda-Tech, and other message boards and learn little things about Hondas and Turbos etc. but I am not that knowledgable of this stuff. My mechancial ability is good enough to maybe install cams or a Turbo kit, not rebuild a motor. This is why I paid a shop to do all my work, to make sure everything was done right, so I didnt have to worry about anything...

And this is to Vince....If my dowel pin was trimmed...why is the block still leaking oil and water ? Please tell me this and I will be amazed. From what I understand, the deck height in one corner is about .0003 of an inch too high, and is it a coincedence that this is the same place it leaks ?

You can read as much as you want, but nothing compares to doing it hands on. Its the best way to learn. Even if you make a mistake dont worry about it because you learn from yours and others mistakes.

Look, there are no two ways to look at it. Here is how it will go. Vince spoke with C-Redrum's mechanic and told him that we need to see the block. I no longer wish to try to appease my accounting dept. I want to see the block, in my hands, and if there is a problem we will fix it. Vince told him to strip the block and send it to us a.s.a.p. If there is a problem, we will fix the problem, ship it back and refund the cost of shipping it here. ( stripped block ONLY. We will only cover the shipping costs up to how much a stripped block costs to ship. Anything over that will be the customers resposibility! Plus, we will charge for disassembly if it is not stripped. ) That is the ONLY way I can make sure that the block is O.K. IF we determine that the block is fine upon arrival, then we will ship the block back to them with a C.O.D. tag for shipping costs both ways. Any other financial responibilities ( i.e. labor, parts other than Golden Eagle Mfg., and time lost ) will not be compensated for. If I buy a car with a cold air intake and run it through a lake and it blows my motor, I cannot go to the maker of the CAI and insist on a new motor!!! That is my tough **** and yes, it has happened to me. I would have been more than happy to work a little more leniently with C-Redrun, but now we are going BY THE BOOK on what we cover and procedures to do so. Take your time kid, your still young. Try to be a little more relaxed about stuff. If you had approached us in a kinder fashion, then we would have responded in a much more friendly manner, and would have even given you a helping hand. Too little, too late I'm afraid. Now we follow our procedure list to a T. I will tell you this, we will be VERY honest on the outcome of our findings if you send us your block. We are a comapny that prides ourselves on the quality of our work. Some of you are right, our customer service to some may not be tip top, but it is hard for two people to handle the amount of customers we have. But now watch out. We are going to make it big. By the way, This is Ted, not Vince. Golden Eagle will now be better than ever. You guys have my word. Thanks.

i think this thread is going in the direction of restoring the name of the company in question, since they're obviously not a fly-by-night operation and they really did get pissed when someone started knocking them.

people rip on JG in here all the time and did they come in and straighten things out?

I don't think GE needs to restore their name. They are a good company and i'll be damn sure to use them again on another motor. You can't always please everyone and yes, sometimes mistakes are made by the manufacturer of a product. I don't know the extent of words between GE and C-redrum, but i do know that i've grown up alot and when i was younger and something went wrong i would bitch and moan and nothing would get done because of a poor attitude. Now i'm a little older and wiser and know that mistakes happen and that if you talk to people things will get dealt with accordingly. I'm sorry for both of their troubles on this matter.

Damn man you don't have anything nice to say about ANYONE, huh? Sorry you're not getting the service you're expecting from GEM or from Jon, our manifold builder, but calm down...You're gonna give yourself an ulser before you can enjoy your car. Being angry just makes it seem like its taking 10 times longer...Easy big dog..Have a

Good post. Vince & Ted are great guys. They bought me Burger King after driving 6 hours to deliver some blocks They did an excellent job and they stand by all their work. I don't think it was inappropriate to mention his age. Intelligence doesnt always grow as you get older, but wisdom does. Knowing how to handle situations, and control your temper also get better with age. Sure some 17 year olds know more than others, but I think its very safe to say in this case, you can stereotype C-Redrum.

Id have to say the same thing, Im tired of seeing my name mentioned by people who do not know me nor know nothing about me. Maybe I was wrong, maybe I wasnt, but is this Forum here to justify that ? NO. This Forum is here to talk about Forced Induction Hondas....
