Default Cracked block

******Before you say call golden eagle i called them and left a message and now there closed for the weekend

I have a b18a1 that is golden eagle sleeve and today on the dyno after a pull we noticed it leaking coolant. I took the turbo manifold off and noticed a crack in the front of the block behind the dip stick under the headstud.

What are my options here? Weld it? Get a new block sleeved? Can these sleeves be re used?

Thats not normal, it happens from a few things.... Mine happen from over tourqing the head while using ca625 headstuds.... It split the same way yours did and the block was no good anymore..... I dont know what stud your using, if fluid/shavings was at the bottom of the hole, if you tourqued the head to 100ft lbs or what...

Regular arp headstuds threaded in hand tight with no oil in holes torqued to 80ftpds in 3 steps.

I have a buddy that told me the day he dropped off his block at golden eagle there was another customer there with the same issue with an LS block. But he made like 1000whp when it failed.

I had that happen as well about 5 years ago. Mine cracked in the same spots AND cracked into the crankcase on the other side which made me believe it was GE's fault andthey helped me out big time i will say that. It was just strange for it to have cracked all theway through like that. I will never use a B18A/B block again regardless.

Not all Honda B series shortblocks are stout Dart pieces lol

The same thing happened to me. GSR block, cracked in the same spot. Call GE they are more than willing to help you out.

^I agree, GE is a legit company who's been around for a long time. IMO, I don't see why they wouldn't help out.

Had this happen to me first race of the season, used jb weld to limp it through the event and actually held up lol. I honestly doubt it had anything to do with how the block was sleeved. An excess in coolant press could cause the block to crack like that.

How did GE helped out? By getting a new block and reused the sleeves on the crack block or got a new set of sleeves?

I wouldn't chance it w/ one that had a history on it ( or had a crack already on it, IMO )
