Default going to the track tomorrow...what should i check for before hand?

i'll be heading to the track tomorrow night to get some 1/4 mile runs in...id like to know what kind of things i should check on before heading down the track...should i run with race gas? my times probably won't be great considering i have never really even tried to launch my car...but i have out run a 300zx tt, my friends NOS gsr (14.3@97), and a trans am on the interstate...im running about 6psi because im scared to go any higher...i MAY run 6.5psi tho...i have a V-AFC...what kind settings should i run in high throttle to be safe??? thanks, later.

running 6 lbs I would think so.

check for leaks, oil level, change your spark plugs, and make sure you're running rich enough. Race fuel will help. good luck

if you tuned your car on pump gas, stick to pump gas, can you even get unleaded fuel at the track? it will ruin your cat (which should be removed), just remember how to shift quickly and keep your revs up, practice even keeping your foot on the gas inbetween shifts no letting it hit the limiter and speed shifting, this will save you min. 3/4 of a second - make sure your clutch likes this abuse. do not deep stage the tree, this will give you a chance to let the car roll out its first 6inches before the time starts. if first time is reasonable go back next week with car stipped, you may pick up a tenth or two

with stage 4 clutch you may find it hard to slip it out of the whole, do not drop the hammer at the start you will just run peg legged for about 20seconds, *no lsd*.

yeah im going on the 11th...sunday is my day off...i don't know what size slicks they are to be honest with you...they are a friend of mine...i dunno how good they are because he's got an 87 NOS'd civic 4 door and his car doesn't run any faster with them on...they may be a little big for what we run right now...i just want to do it for fun...i may not even try them tho...im trying to bust into the 13s on my street tires but i want to run 101-103 trap speeds...i have an LS tranny and in my car 3rd will run me up until about 108 so i think it's possible since i don't have to make an extra shift...later.

You'll prolly hafta get your redline raised...108 in your car corelates to like high 90s in trap speed.

If your running big slicks you wont hafta worry though.
