Going FI on B16
This is my first post over here in FI, and I am seriously thinking about turboing my 00' Si, and need some direction.
First off, YES I searched.
What I came up with, was a T3 60, it should give me good spool up with decent power up top. I really don't understand turbos at all yet, but I want to learn, please take me under your wing
Now, I don't want to do any internal work, and I want a SAFE, streetable setup, I am not looking for huge gains at the cost of my motors reliability.
How much would it be broken down for a reliable setup??
Thanks in advance

that's a decent turbo to start with. You can find them in junk yards, from Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupes.
The #1 mistake you can avoid (blowing your motor) early is by starting things the right way. Don't half *** your fuel management. Hondata, AEM, Zdyne, Link...the choices are endless. In the end, choose the one you and especially your tuner are most comfortable with. It's the proper way to go, for reliability and also power

Thanks for the reply.
Now with the Hondata, I have to go OBD I, right? Maybe I can build up my fuel managment on my NA B16, then when I have the resources, put in the turbo.
Is a street legal turbo install possible?? I know it will vary be state, but I don't live in Cali.
Sorry for all the newb questions, but I have done ENDLESS research on NA tuning, and I am just now starting my research on FI. I am trying to learn everything there is before I start dumping money and time into my motor. The only mods I have are Koni yellows, which a good initial step for any performance upgrade. I decided to go FI, because the gains with NA tuning don't live up to the cost.

if you have a 96+ car, then yes, you must first convert to OBD1. You could start on this project now by buying a stock P30 (obd1 del sol b16) ECU and a conversion harness. I think you'll find your car runs much smoother and consistantly by just doing that by itself. Later, you can buy Hondata and the turbo kit of your choice. A good beginner kit would be a GReddy kit, you can expect 250+ whp out of that kit, with an intercooler, boost controller, 10psi and good tuning. It's 50 state legal.
