thank you.all a ls is good for is limping on until your built vtec motor is done..lol

Iggy, get whatever head is cheapest, they'll both make very similar power. Get the gsr cams if you can, but don't spend much more money on them over b16 cams. The worst vtec stuff is tons better than the best ls stuff!!

Oh yeah, on this deal, with the vtec head you can still use your distributor, and the ls tranny won't be any worse with the ls/vtec than it is now with the ls. It's a no brainer...</TD></TR></TABLE>
well I guess you can rig it, but I didn't think that was your style. and I have to dissagree on the tranny. you make 400 on the LSvtec and 400 on the LS, the curves are going to be totally different.. torque is going to be way up on the LS cause the boost its going to take to get there. w/ out shortening up the gears w/ the vtec set up your just gonna have a car w/ less torque but no gears to make up for it.
Iggy if you seriously can say, "yeh ill be happy w/ 350-400 and never want to upgrade" stick w/ what you got and just build the bottem end and turn up the boost. Keep it simple and cheap.. but we all know that is not possible, you always want more, which is why I switched over to GSR
either way you decide to do it, just do it right.

Half of the people out there only run one or two bolts on the distributor. If we're talking about a money issue then **** it, run the ls dist. and cut the flange off it. On the trans, you gotta remember that you'll be reving higher with the ls/vtec and you'll still have a very wide powerband so the gear spread won't hurt you much. We're not talking about a little b16 here!! By the time you get a good sized turbo on an ls your powerband gets pretty small.

His number would fall like a rock at higher rpms. </TD></TR></TABLE>
that was seriously gay, got my *** handed to me by a Z6 but good news a couple days before the dyno i got word of a B17 longblock.....made the deal on it a couple days after the dyno.....all i need is a couple valves and im going LSVTEC also....
so my vote is for LSVTEC....
