Getting weird boost cut after new engine build
Heres the situation.. car ran on a manual boost controller. was tuned to 11 psi. Well something happened to the block which we had to replace all the internals too a new block because a bolt stripped. COmpression and pistons and rods etc are still exactly the same in the new set up, however we hooked up an AVCR to it now. Now whenever we try to up the boost it wont go past 9lbs.. It feels like its just hitting boost cut. It cant be the AVCR because when its running off the wastegate with the avcr setting off it will run only at 6lbs... Any help would be appreciated

What the spring rate on your wastegate?? 6psi? If you were tuned up to 11psi, why dont you just buy 11psi spring and see if it was the boost control or something else.
If you still want to mess around with the engine, then check for boost leak, check connectors and clamps from turbo to TB. Check for gasket leak. Turbo gasket, manifold gasket, check for wastegate gasket too. Bolts on mine get loose all the time at 18psi, so check there. See if your vacuum line on the boost control hook up correctly or not.
Then again, if all checked and nothing seem wrong, I would just get 11psi spring and watch your a/f ratio to make sure everything good up to 11psi. Dont just guess, wideband pretty cheap these days; buy it, use it and have fun driving.
