I have a 3in down pipe to a full 3in exhaust with a Moroso resonator, and a Borla muffler in the back and I like it, its not too quiet and not too loud, unless I hit vtec and the wastegate opens, than it screams and I dont hear any thing else.

I wonder, if I get to your age, that I would still go on webboards and smile upon younger guys who say "pussies".

AMEN to that!!

Here's my 3" (the smell gets to me at times--I know my lifespan is getting shorter) custom cutout---downpipe,

running a 3" QTP e-cutout---then it "T's" off into 2.5" into a stock ITR exhaust

faster spool by several hundred RPMS, tuned for the cutout open.
Daily driven GSR, low boost 6.5psi 260WHP

I've heard from my cousin that it doesn't affect the A/F ratio when you run it closed.

Nightrider... that open downpipe looks ideal as far as distance to the cutout but is that effective in getting the exhaust out of the engine bay... I'm guessing not because you are getting sick of the smell. I can only smell mine if I sit in traffic for a long time... but usually I don't have it open if I think I'll be anywhere with traffic
