Default fully built gsr

i was wondering if anyone have the issue of their motor sound like a diesel truck when fully warmed up. i have not the foggest idea why it sounds like it does.
the car runs fine though it has a shitty 15.7 in the 1/4 due to low compression of 9.5:1.

anyone had this issue also does anyone have problems with their elbrock tb sticking closed

your b18c sounds like a diesel when warm? could be bad rod or main bearings. What is the mod list?

I have the same problem. I have a fully built gsr running low compression 9:1 and the exhaust is a lot lower sounding and it sounds different when I hit vtec.

I actually like the sound a lot better then before the rebuild.

JE's slap a good bit

Who built your motor? Did they use the correct clearances?

My bottom end is golden eagle sleeved gsr .20 over with je pistons and eagle rods and mine sounds fine. If anything it is noisier when it is cold rather than warm

my compression is same as well

Pistons are new je, but look kind of dull because I sanded down all the thin spots and scotchbrited the tops

Did you get it tuned yet? If not, then you should have tuned it before you went to track even though it is not built for all motor.

the slap is caused by the forged pistons and the ring gapping, loose gapping makes the car sound like a diesel

I've never heard slap in person. But do you guys really think it would sound like dieseling? seems a little extreme. Maybe he's knocking

Find out whoever did your piston to wall clearance or bored your block and ask them what is the piston to wall clearance on your motor

Je's do sound like that mine always did. They call for more piston to wall gap for more boost so if you gaps are larger they will slap and be a little noisy.

My car has really loud piston slap. I have JE pistons and they are very loud. I dont have a problem with it once it warms up it goes away but cold its loud! But once you have boost it will become much quieter!

thanks for all the responses
me and two of my friends did the built
one works for honda (sweet) and the other has had almost every hybrid you can think of and i was the newbie learning by doing.

when it comes down to clearance w/ the internals everything is and the up and up
i will call the machine shop in the morning to see what the clearance they made.

no i havent had it tuned cause i was hoping to be boosting in a couple of months after i did the built but as life goes things just dont happen that way.

so im riding around with my built diesel and throttle body sticking and high idle but on that glorious day i will ripp through these streets on 22 psi
