Fucking injectors...

******* injectors...
Everything was finally done but when I turned the key right before ignition, to the point where the fuel lines pressurize, I had a small leak in my injectors somewhere. One of them doesn't go in good enough. Luckily I had some silicone gasket maker laying around and sealed them all up perfectly. Now just 12 more hours for it to cure. Damn setbacks.

DSM 450's. It didnt leak at all before and was fine, but i overtightened one of the fuel rail nuts and snapped the stud that the nut threads onto so it goes on a little bit loose now I guess. This silicone should fix it up good though. I'm letting that **** dry completely before I mess with it.

****. The small red o-ring at the top of the injectors that goes into the fuel rail is broken on two of them. What should I do?

Re: ******* injectors... (sgT)
Is it? Thanks sgT. I would have gone and bought new studs and use "plastic metal" to bond them on. I am going to have to see exactly what is messed up besides the small red o-rings at the top of the injectors (fuel rail side). I have no idea where I could get new ones, does anyone here? It's an awfully small part.. I don't think anyone would have it. I guess Im screwed?

that bond isn't going to have enough strenght to hold the stud. seriously, at the very least replace it with a bolt which you should be able to find at any hardware store. ask the store for their metric section. that sealant isnt any kind of solution either, not even for short term. the last thing we want to see is you posting how your car caught on fire.

Replace the stud...the same thing happened to my brother's GSR...we had to unscrew it and get the stud from the dealer...Replace the o-rings also since they are torn...good luck

Re: ******* injectors... (turbocoupe)
just think about it for a minute...
someone asked a question and someone gave an answer but he didn't want to listen to the advice that was offered to him...............so why bother even posting on this board.

Re: ******* injectors... (sgT)
When I speak of O rings, I do not mean the larger black ones that go into the manifold where the fuel injectors insert, I am speaking of the small ( red on the DSM 450 ) rings that go on the top of the fuel injector where it inserts into the rail. Is this the same part you guys are talking about? Just want to clarify it before I go looking for the part. As for the guy insulting me, yeah I ask a lot of questions because I'm a newbie to turbos, but a lot of trustworthy and reliable people post on these boards so I don't hesitate to ask. Also, I wasn't arguing his reponse, I was unaware that it threaded into the manifold, as he later cleared up. Please refrain from making ignorant comments before you have even fully read a topic. Thanks for the help guys.

Everyone has to start off somewhere when learning about car. He didn't know that the injectors threaded into the manifold. Which Sgt cleared up for him. The FI forum has the least amount of flames and smart comments. We try to keep it that way. Now when someone asks, "what's the best turbo" please feel free and flame away. I'm not trying to be a dick, I just want everyone to "get along."
Cheers,
Marc

Re: ******* injectors... (OKSolSi)
OKSolSi, glad to see you have patience and are asking smart questions
It does't really matter which o-rings we're talking about, you should be able to get either top OR bottom ones at any auto-parts store. make sure you bring in an injector and a good o-ring so you can show them exactly what you're looking for.
