Default forced induction question

Ok well i have a question for you guys,

Once a custom turbo kit is installed and ready to go. How do you guys get to the tuner without detonation or hitting boost. What is the best way to avoid hitting boost on the way to the tuner?

don't floor it, don't drive at high load, i.e. 5th gear 40mph

yeah its pretty easy to stay out of boost watch the gauge and you should be fine. you have 2 choices....

1. use stock injectors and ecu and no boost. install injectors at the tuners.
2. use bigger injectors, and chipped ecu with a basemap to get to a tuner. still no boost. get right ti tuning upon arrival.

get a basemap and boost on it like you stole it... then get it tuned.

He might not know that you are kidding...........

Dont go into boost, even with a basemap. Drive very gingerly or have the car towed to the tuner. It would really suck to wash out your rings or detonate after you have done all that work to install the kit. GL.

I like to have my cars towed, it's not worth all of the work and money, when I can pay $100-$150 to tow my car to the tuner.

AAA Plus. For $105/year (I think) I get 100-mile free towing per day, unlimited. I do admit to absolutely taking advantage of the situation.

Honestly though, just drive slowly and like a normal person. I usually make the 15 mile trip in 5th gear crusing around 30 mph with my hazards on in the right lane. One eye on the road, one on vacuum.

Or you do like me and buy a truck and a tow dolly to tow your civic.

My trusty truck has saved my *** many times.
