Forced Induction Database, any interest?
The basics searchables are
Displacement (in 0.1 litre increments)
configuration (DOHC/SOHC),
Variable valve work (Vtech,vvti,vvtli,ivtec,mvic...etc) (yes/no
Cams (yes no, or ranges for peak power in 500 rpm increments)
Manifolds (ram horn/ log / divided )
Turbo (the supra guys have normalized all that down to how many mm the compressor is so that no matter what the manufacturer is the same sized turbos are considered same classed turbos)
Injector size
ECM (piggyback, chipped OEM, standalone)
And hp in say 50hp increments (150,200,250,300,350,400,450..etc)
I think those are the basics...
You should have a text box that runs a quick query and gives back the number of records (just as a number) that match the selection so far, so that people can know that there's nothing in the database for that specific combination so they don't even need to search out for the details.

Ok, I have gotten a bunch of feedback which is great. I will definitely add all the possible Engine Codes... this isnt a big deal at all. Along with some more detail regarding turbo sizes which seems to be a very common suggestion. Any more input on this?
As far as the searching goes... I would like to keep it simple here but agree that there could be more options. I want this to be searchable, but at the same time not overly sophisticated. Honestly once you narrow down the DOHC, b18C, Horsepower, ect... you could then sift through the results for what you are looking for.
-Displacement
-SOHC/DOHC
-Horsepower
-Stock/Aftermarket Sleeves
-Turbo?
-???
-???
I will be making the columns sortable, but havent figured it out yet. That way once you pull back a set of results, you can click on the column name and it will sort again...
And yes, at the moment this is intended for Honda/Acura setups at the moment. Please PM me for more details regarding other makes/models.

<<I was kind of hoping this would be a Honda only database....... >>
Like many software products (example auto trader or even the carpart.com database)
if he designs it where it can hold multiple manufacturers, he can then run it / market it / sell it as the same backend (Database) with different webpages as his front end (having the front end specific to his customers)
So people interested in mitsubishi for example will only see mitsubishi options and mitsu engine codes, but the database design is the same
Manufacturer, Chassis code (or model/year combo), Engine code
So when you go to the honda page, by default the manufacturer is Honda and all the engine codes in the list are pre-filtered to only show honda engine codes ...
I know this is a pet project right now, but it has great potential so i just thought i'd give him some direction to make it able to grow with him, if he decides to take it that far

Changes made:
Added D15B
Added F20C, F22C
Added 75 and 75.5 MM for sohc guys!
Changed the default value for "Choose One..." to "NA" if you are to not choose an item.
Added "Other" to some of the categories

I forgot about this for a while... I see not much interest was generated.
If i get some time I might roll through a few of the large setup threads and get these entered.
