Default Forced Induction Database, any interest?

Edit***

I've made a few changes to the interface, especially in terms of searching. I would like some more feedback so that I can make this a useful tool.

This page is where you can query and see specific setups based on search criteria... I know it needs more refining just looking for some ideas... http://www.drabbag.com/Default4.aspx

Also, please follow the link and enter your setup! Help me load test this sucker haha.

I think you have a good idea going, but if you're really looking to help people, you're going to need to be more specific. I looked over the first link and saw that many cars, if not all, were listed as running stock fuel pumps and even stock ignitions. Also, the turbo description leaves a lot to be desired...

possibly linking each setup to a number and then place the rest of the details/particulars in additional rows on a different page would be an idea. Looks promising though.

Thanks for the feedback. This is exactly what I was looking for.

I want input from you guys on what would be helpful, then I can make adjustments to accomodate.

Also, please remember the first 8-10 records are simply test data that I put in while developing this.

What options would you guys like for turbo, Dropdown list ? Break it down by Turbine, compressor, ect?

This is a great idea!!! I do this kind of stuff for my job.

I don't think the map sensor and spark plugs are necessary...

I would def add columns for turbo specs: Compressor "Trim"/size, Turbine Wheel, Turbine Inlet Flange (ie- t3,t4 etc...), Center Cart Type (ballbearing/journal bearing) and Turbine A/R size

Example:

Garrett - 57trim - Stg 5 - T3 - Journal Bearing - .63

I have removed the test records.

Thanks to those that have entered info thus far!

I'll take notes on what you guys want added as more records are added and make changes in a few days. For those that have already entered your information, I'll make it possible for you to go and add those attributes if you wish.

How to edit a record!?

Maybe you can let the user add a option. I.e. when a user don't find the right option he can add one by himself. Like "Ramhorn" to the manifold section. The next use has it listed in the manifold list.

A field for additional remarks or comment would be nice, too.

I think having a link to each person's setup categorized by engine would be a great resource. If someone could search D series or B series and then find a general power range with a setup and dyno information listed, that would be amazing. I know on the Evans Tuning website, they give a general breakdown of parts for certain power ranges. If you could compile something like that with individual setups listed, i would certainly recommend it to people when they're asking about various things. I'd be interested in helping if you need anything...

yes we def need a way to edit the record, and also you should add some more options to the turbo manifold drop down list, such as ramhorn, top mount, front mount, sidewinder etc, also a field for us to type in the manifold manufactures would be nice.

maybe add a drop down list for intercooler type, air or water?

how about type of fuel used?

These are all great ideas! Thanks for all the feedback.

Editing will be in the next update, as well as adding more fields/details.

I'll compile a list of the suggestions to make sure all is accounted for.

As for filtering based on Engine and Power level... no problem. That was kind of the idea if you look at the details page, there are dropdown lists that allow you to filter based on SOHC/DOHC then Turbo/SC (not very helpful haha). I will update this as well to more helpful format.

* Also, if you guys didnt notice, the gridview allows sorting if you click on the column heading.

Filter possibilities......

Garrett, Borg, Precision etc
T3 or T4
GT or T series

200-300whp
300-400whp
400-500whp
500-600whp
700-800whp
800-insane SOB's

As for ignition categories,

Stock
COP/Cam Trigger
MSD Dizzy

Fuel Type:

Would you guys agree that I can remove the RPM from HP and TQ? THis will allow more consistent data and ultimately better searching/sorting.

Yes, I'd definitely agree, I think it would make it near impossible to sort by power with millions of different rpm ratings at the same power levels

To say the least on the turbo description.

In order to show more consistency, it would be prudent to also show the TYPE of dyno used, since these numbers can VARY very easily. Dynopak, Dyno Dynamic, Mustang dyno, etc. It would also be interesting to show the shop/personnel of who tuned the car and related feedback as to how they felt about their experiences with them. You can even have the option of SELF as the tuner.

Good start, and way to show some initiative!!.. MUCH TO ADD YOU DO..

Just to let you all know I have added some extra options when you go to enter a record.

Also, I'm building a better search page that will allow you to select exactly which attributes you want to select from the Setups. I thought this would be helpful as there are so many now.

Updates*

I have added a better search page that allows you to select exactly which attributes you would like to see, as well as a flitering option.

Also, if you have entered your setup prior to me adding more attributes, please visit the page and try to edit your record adding the new values.

Please send people to the site so that we can start to get a strong foundation built.
