FMU and stock fuel pump
Hey guys, I just recently installed a Jackson Racing Supercharger on my 01' Type R. I had planned on installing a hondata s200 system with it right away and drive it with a basemap to get tuned... but as usual, things go wrong. Apparently my P28 that came with the used hondata system i bought is already fried and so im stuck with it. Well until i can get the p28 back and get the hondata tuned... is it safe to run the car on stock injectors and fuel pump with a Vortech FMU 12:1 disk? The system is using an 8-9psi pulley. Will it be fine or will it just run the Fuel pressure up too high? Please help as this is my only car for now. Thanks for the help in advance and please ignore my ignorance... im trying to learn.

Re: FMU and stock fuel pump (nsxmatt)
What would happen if i were to go into boost and the FMU kicked in? Would it run temporarily or what? I only need it as a temporary solution. I have a Walbro 255hp fuel pump ready to go in, just havent had time to put it in. Won't be able to put it in until sometime this coming week, but I need to drive my car to get to work and back. Once i get the Walbro pump in, i wont be as hesitant, but until then i dont want to have to worry about it.

If you have a hour you have time to change the fuel pump. The FMU runs off of high line pressure, a stock pump doesn't provide that.
Simple answer is do not boost the car until you have preped the fuel system correctly. You have a very costly motor and your wanting to gamble it for a few days of boost? It's your motor, go ahead and do what you want but my suggestion is go take the belt off and drive normal till you can afford to install the pump and the Hondata.

Ok thanks for the input. I will probably just do what you say and pull the belt off. As long as I do that it'll be fine to drive normally right? But once i get the Walbro 255 pump in, I shouldnt have anything to worry about correct? I wont get my ecu back for a while, and I don't have a beeter to drive around at the moment so im forced to drive it against my better judgement.
