fmu question
Ok i have a probe gt and was going to turbo it learned everything about how to turbo the gt but i was shopping around and discoverd that it is hella cheaper to buil a hatch always wanted one anyway so i sold the probe and going to b20 turbo the hatch and was wondering if i need to use a fmu because it does not look like any one else uses one

there are a few ways to get the needed fuel volume for a boosted car. the fmu is a way of doing that by forcing more fuel through the injector via higher pressure. other ways are secondary injectors, or means of engine management.

For low boost applications, and FMU may be desirable - it's cheap, easy to install, and not very complicated. Once you surpass about 7psi of boost though, the FMU setup can stop working so well. This is why most people opt for an EMS like AEM, Uberdata, Hondata, Mega Squirt, you name it...something that allows you to acces and change the fuel and ignition tables of the ECU, instead of fooling the ECU into not seeing boost.
