Default FMU and Bleeder Valve

Got an oppurtunity to get a 12:1 vortech FMU. I only need the 8 or 10.

Can you put a bleeder valve in the vaccum line that goes to the FMU and dial down the boost that the FMU sees? I.E. get the 12:1 and only allow 6 psi through the vacuum line while the manifold gets 9.

Is this essentially the same as 9:1? (6/9=.66, .66*12:1 = 8:1)

You will need a one-way bleeder. That hose to the FMu also sees vacuum and a bleeder will act like a vacuum leak if you don't put a one way valve on it.

Do you really want to experiment with fueling when it is the #1 cause of engine failure?

If you want to do it, you really need an in-car fuel pressure gauge. Why don't you just order the recalibration kit from vortech, its only $30 or for $45 you can get a kit that includes the 4,6,8,10,& 12:1 disks.

Seems like such a bad idea.
