Fluctuating boost?????
Ok so I realise that small turbos will run out of breath but Ive got some funny stuff going on. Engine is a stock d16z6 w/ T3 .42/.48. WG actuator is 5psi but now I have a turbosmart MBC on it running 7psi.
Im building up to 7psi then around 4500rpm it drops down to about 3-3.5 psi. Once I get to about 5500 It goes back up to 5.5-6psi.
Whats going on???????? Why would it die so early then get a "second wind"?

Pretty sure you have no boost leaks?
That is kinda weird, mine does a similar thing just as it hits VTEC, drops a pound or two for an instant.
Did it do this before you put the boost controller in?
Is the Turbosmart a vented type MBC? It could be opening too much too quickly, and then not recovering well.

Im going to test things out again but IM quite certain it was holding a solid 5psi w/out the controller.
Im not sure what a vented boost controller is?????
Ok so lets assume that it holds a solid 5psi all the way to redline w/ out the controller...
WHy would the boost controller cause this to happen and what can I do to fix it?
