Flowmaster on Turbo D16y8
Hey currnetly i have a flowmaster on my d16y8 . I just bought it because i was really curoius on how it would sound and it sounds damn good, deep and not very loud. I was just wondering if anyone has every used one on a turbo car. I am going to be building my own exhaust soon it will consist of a Kteller 2.5 exhuast kit, 2.5 downpipe, 22 in. resonator and a high flow cat and maybe the flowmaster (I think its a 40 series). And i was wondering how it would sound. Anyone out there running a flowmaster on their turbo civic give me some feedback. Thanks

Most people don't run baffled mufflers on turbo cars because it significantly reduces power. I wouldn't personally run anything but a straight-through design muffler on a boosted car.
If I had to guess at what this would sound like, I'd say a really loud, long fart.

not completely the same but i've got dual 40 flowmasters on both my 86 svo and my 88 2.3t mustang.
the exhaust is full 3" to the dual 2.5" pipes and then just 2.5" back on both sides.
still have the stock .60/.63 turbo on both the cars.
sounds just fine but I'm thinking of swapping over to borla or dynomax mufflers on one of the cars with the straight through design and see what happens as I'm kind of wanting to take a pair of the flows and toss on my explorer

guys don't forget about Vibrant. I have their 2.5" straight through flat black muffler. I have to say it's the best muffler I have EVER owned. I've had some cheap ebay mufflers, some not so cheap, APEX'i N1, Greddy etc. and I love the Vibrant. First of all you can't even see it under the car, it looks factory from most angles. At night time it doesn't reflect any light. The sound is amazingly quiet, I cannot hear it at all cruising, when I first fire it up it sounds super quiet at idle. It does get loud at WOT and on overrun, but at all other times it's super quiet and it's 2.5".
I do have a 16" resonator (and a turbo) but even without it I think the system wouldn't be too loud.

How much did u pay for it?? Really the only reason why im asking about the flowmaster is because i all ready have it and dont feel like buying a diffrent muffler, also i like the the way the flowmaster looks under my car, no big *** can just a nice ss tip. Also i like the way it sounds, but its still only an axel back still stock resinator and cat.

I think it was $89 shipped but I bought it a few months ago, i'm sure it wasn't over $100 shipped. Got it on a groupbuy here. Search around for some images of it on HT it's really a great muffler.
the entire muffler, including the tip is flat black it looks almost like a stock CRV muffler.
