Default Dont want my turbo exhaust to be ricey....

So my turbo exhuast setup is 2.5 " DP -> 3" all the way back. My buddy with a mr2 turbo has a 3" exhuast and his is very loud.

Will my exhuast be this loud? I was under the impression turbo exhuast was rather quiet, i am running 8.5:1 with a T3/T4 turbo.. and im tryin so stay sleeperish (quiet)

I am getting a resonator in place of the cat but will this quiet it enough? I am using a kteller SS exhuast with magnoflow oval, its not running yet so i cant telly ou how loud it is now but do you think it will be loud? Should I get extra resonators welded in before its all installed n stuff?

thanks!

mostly and i say mostly most turbo hondas seem pretty quiet to me, i wasnt running a resonator but had a cat in my car when it was NA and it was loud as hell, and once it was boosted it was like my car was 10 times more quiet. i wouldnt worry about it too much, but then again you can always put in a resonator later down the road or something. yea turbos make honda/acuras sound much better. The turbo does quiet it down too.....obviously since there is a huge chunk of spinning metal in the way of the exhaust notes. They aren't quiet like stock, just not as insanely stupid loud as an NA car.

does any of this apply to a Supercharged motor?

to tell you the truth. on supercharged vehicles its EXTRA annoying . well might be the same but everything ive heard on SC cars sound horrible.

on turbo hondas however. ESP B series turbo 3" exhausts sound kick ***. i dont like MR2 turbo's with exhaust. sound like nasty and burbly.

tried n true setup for hondas. 3" mandrel bent exhaust. and maganaflow muffler. magnaflow resonator optional. it all sounds good

I'm running my built Z6 8.5:1 c/r with a 57 trim .5ar stage 3 .63 ar turbine T3/T04E with a 2.5" open down pipe shooting straight down.

It's a LOT quieter than I would have expected; it's quieter now than when i was running the straight built z6 and a 2.25" thermal knockoff with no cat and a busted muffler.

It doesn't sound ricey at all; it sounds downright gnarly; and when you get on it the turbo whines and spits and wheezes then SHRIELS under boost; its a life changing experience really

I would expect that maybe 2 3" stright through mufflers (one being a fart cannon in the rear) would be real quiet with the turbo; I dunno though. That is what I had planned on running on my car but after hearing my exhaust i may not run one afterall

How much power are you trying to push? If you run a greddy exhaust those are hella quiet with turbo. 3" will sound deep. If you drive it on the street a lot and dont want to get harassed by cops go with a greddy exhaust or something thats not 3"

Get a resonator later on, see how you like what you got so far.

E-cutout - the ultimate sleeper exhaust. Its only loud when you want power.

I have 2.5 dp to 3" all the way back. My exhaust system includes 3" high flow cat., 24" long resonator and thermal muffler. My exhaust system is loud. I don't know what to do now. I'm thinking about using the Dynatech vortex insert cone. Has anybody try it out before?

You have to remember that an MR2 is mid engine, so the exhaust is only about 3-4 feet at the most, including muffler, etc. Our exhausts have a longer way to travel, so the sound would much quieter.

I Put a full 3" Exhaust from stock GSR exhaust. Mine actually got quieter when i went bigger. I still hear the "SEMI EXHAUST" sound when I let someone else drive my car. I love that sound

I ran a 2.5" dp, 3" high flow cat, and 3" thermal exhaust on my integra. It wasn't super quiet, but it wasn't loud at all. It had a real nice deep tone and if you stood in the back of the car and reved it up, you could hear the turbo spool down when you left off of the gas!! I loved the sound of the thermal on mine and it wasn't ricey looking at all. Just a small muffler with a 3" tip. Looked almost stock.

I have a 3" all the way DP + kteller kit + magnaflow oval muffler... no cat, no res.

everyone tells me it sounds quiet at cruise and idle. but when I get on it people pull up to me at the next light or whatever just to tell me how loud my damn car is, hehe.

sounds deep, exotic... not rice. and I live out in muscle car town. not one person has mentioned rice when talking about my car...

feed the dump tube back into the exhaust and maybe throw on a res and it should be real quiet
