Fitting on rear of block?
I know the fitting is a BSPT but does anyone here use a NPT? Does it work/fit?
I was using a BSPT for my oil pressure gauge, but the hole in the fitting is like 1/16" amd I want it bigger for my VTEC feed line. Can I use a 1/8" NPT? Should I try and drill out the BSPT hole so its bigger?

It is like one thread off, but Ive had no problems with it. Now, if Im not mistaken
Z10 makes a tee fitting that has the correct thread.
Copied from the the z10 website.
-Use true npt threads on the back of your block
-Stop ruining the threads on your head/block
-No risk of cracking/breaking off like bronze equivalents
-Made of 316 Stainless steel
-Use for Vtec, turbo, oil pressure gauge, or oil pressure switch

I have that fitting. Works great. A little expensive, but it does its job: makes a nice seat and doesn't mess up any threads.

Well I know about that firring from Z10..but its like $13 plus Id have to wait
I need this ASAP. I guess Ill try a 1/8" NPT.
What do you guys think about trying to drill out the BSPT fitting I already have?

Ive eard from some people that they have had problems with the NPT fitting, it either leaked or broke off since it doesnt thread all the way into the block.
A local shop suggested to re-tap the block with for a NPT style thread...or redrill my BSPT fitting to 1/8". Ill try that...nothing to lose there.

Re: Fitting on rear of block? (97CivicFerio)
The ysell the fitting at Pep Boys..that is where I got mine. But like I said, the hole in the fitting is quite small in comaprrison to a true 1/8" NPT.
The hole in the 1/8" BSPT fitting looks to be slightly over 1/16" in size while a 1/8" NPT fitting hole looks closer to 3/16".
Anyone know teh size of the hole in the Z10 fitting?
