first timer
this is my first time building an import and also my first time with any kind of boost. well i jumped into buying parts as they came along without doing any kind of research. so far i have aquired 2 h22's one stock jdm and one sleeved block. right now i'm running the stock h22 with no boost and building the sleeved block for boost. i plan on boosting the stock h22 to get a feel for everything before i go big. well i have a few questions. first of all it looks like i made a poor purchase. i got one of those ebay t70's. my main question is if i build my setup with the turbo i have how much will i have to change to replace the turbo (manifold, downpipe, retune, etc...???). also i would like to know where i can get info on turbo sizes and performance. everything i read about them seems like another language to me right now. any help would be greatly appreciated.

just get everything your going to use in the future now. cause if you have to get it all twice its gonna get way too expensive. just try to sell that turbo and get a new turbo that will suite your HP goals then pick a manifold and go from there.

Re: (KleenL)
i really dont understand what the diffrent measurements of the turbo mean in terms of spooling, fit, and horsepower so i'm having trouble trying to figure out what turbo is right for me. is there anywhere that breaks this stuff down in layman's terms so i can make somewhat of an educated decision on my own. people have told me what turbo is good for me but i would like to know for myself what i'm getting into.

a 60-1 compressor would do what you want, and not be very laggy with the right T3 turbine. A stage3 .63 AR will make 450whp on a B18, but you could probably get away with a .82 AR if its not going to be on the road every day. If you choose to spend 2x on a turbo, a GT35R is a similar turbo as far as power.
As far as replacing everything, it depends. If its a straight T70, as in T4 turbine housing, it will cost as much as you'd spend on journal bearing turbo to retrofit a different one.
You'd do best to sell the T70, pick your final turbo, then buy that or a cheaper, smaller version with the same turbine housing. It just happens that a GT35R can have the same turbine housing as a 57trim t3/t04e, which would be perfect for a stock 2.2L motor.
