Stock Block H22 Turbo
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best mods to get for a turbo setup on a stock block jdm h22a.
If anyone can give opinions on the size turbo to use (planning on running 7-9 psi)
I already have Hondata so tuning will be done.
anythign like a thicker head gasket and other misc. items that i need or will help with the longevity and performance will help.
thanks in advance

sub 350whp is about the only thing that will make it last long... There are people that push it but 350ish is where the ringlands go bye bye

nah i know whats weak and what needs to be done to run high boost i was just wondering on ppls opinions on brands and stuff like that for different products for running the low boost on stock motor.
i was wondering like what is a good manifold for cheap money, and what size turbo i should use and if they make head gaskets which lower the compression on my motor and stuff like that

no the sleeves aren't weak they are just contain a material that isn't very compadiable with most forged pistons.
The weakspot in the h22 is the ringlands

Re: Stock Block H22 Turbo (b16hybridsol)
i was running bascically the fmax turbo kit but w/o the crappy fuel setup they give you with the kit... it was a cast manifold with a t3/t04e turbo... the car made decent power on 6-8psi but i got greedy and cranked up the boost and booommm there went the motor... If you gonna boost your stock h22 just make sure that the one area you dont skimp out on is you fuel setup... if you tune the hell out of the car and run relitivly low boost like 6-8 psi you should be good for a while...

The FRM nikasil cylinder walls are actually stronger than B series cylinder walls are.
Tuning can prevent the ringlands from going bye bye... but every motor is different. I've seen several give at 7psi, but then again you have a guy (matt - one fab) that hits 500+whp on a bone stock h22a.
