Default fire ring

well, ive got a tial 35mm wastegate and dont ahve a firering for it. pissin me off. the ring i have is "for a 38mm" and sits way too low out the bottom of the gate, and i can still see past the valve with that thing in there. cant even get a nut on the mani with that ring in there.. a couple people told me the 35 ring and the 38 ring are the same, but i dont see how. ive never seen a ring sit that far out the bottom of the gate. now i cant hardly build boost without a ring in there. anyone know the difference or what the hell is going on with this thing?

You sure it's not backwards? Mine sat out a little bit, but was drawn flush when I tightened the bolts that hold the WG to the manifold....

My 40mm was the same way, it's probably done that way so it seals better.

Make sure its not backwards... It only fits one way. The "step" part goes into the WG, the "flat" touches the manifold.

i know how it goes in, it just dosent. not with a hammer, not with a vise, not with bolts on the manifold.
