Default Finished install...bogging like hell and overheating!!

Ok we finished the install today on my GSR. Full Race stage 1. It's running on the stock ECU right now with stock injectors...NO BOOST...it gets tuned on the 8th. NOW...on the way home it was bogging like crazy...i could barely go anywhere! Riht as i was pulling into the parking space the temp gauge went nuts and started climbing...i immediatly shut the car down...what is wrong?

I have a cell also...i just checked and its code 3 (map sensor)...but that is hooked up correctly...it just came on as i was pulling in

well you just answered your own question on why you have a map sensor code. as the other problems, we prolly need more info to be able to give a reason why its happening, since its still pretty vague{sp?).

Ok heres the rundown...

We installed a thicker HG, ARP headsutds, and cam gears. We did not re-time the engine afterwards. wouldn't the lower compression throw off the timing? i also intalled an edelbrock victor X IM...

If you threw a MAP Cel, chances are you threw the car into limp mode momentarily. Reset the ECU by pulling the ECU fuse or disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes. Connect everything back up and start the car and let it idle without touching anything for a few minutes.

Dont boost until you get tuned

ya the map sensor prob was cuz it hit like .5 psi lol... i will take the wg spring out so i wont boost... but the overheating and bogging im still clueless really.... besides timing i dont know what else it could be.... when i would pull out no matter how much i would be on the gas it wouldnt hardly move at all, i almost didnt make it around the corner on the main road and the oil press was dropping to like 20psi

Did you bleed your coolant since you installed the new HG? New thermostat?

Take it out and boil it and see if it opens at the right temperature. I doubt your head gasket is already blown if you took it easy on the way home. Did you have over-heating problems before? Its probably something small and stupid like radiator cap . Good luck

i think the bogging issue is due to running off stock ecu and injectors=not enough fuel for such big power.Stay off boost till its tuned your time to boost will soon come.
Edit:running lean also causes to overheat.
