Finally my own dyno!
I dont **** about dynos but from the looks of that id be a little scared to put my car on it.....I guess Ill just haev to hang tight for the vid of the EG tomorrow

There isnt any horrible about dynojets. I have tuned on them for 3-4 years. The only downside is that you cannot simulate loading on the engine for partial throttle tuning. They just released a roller brake that allows to put resistance on the roller to simulate load, but its an extra feature not included.

There is no calibration that has to be done whatsoever. Right out of the box the dyno is ready to run. You can get different readings with the dyno depending on what options you enable in the software. They are far more accurate than a roller dyno. You can measure the hp and tq difference between a WOT run with and without the headlights on. There isnt any rollers to dampen out the pressure oscillations associated with knock, so you can easily see if it occuring...even single cylinder knock. The hub boxes make about as much noise as a stock honda at idle running at maximum rpm capacity, so you have the ability to hear the engine much better. That in itself opens up the doors to actually hearing knock at WOT.

Its actually very safe. The hub boxes are planted from the weight of the car, and cannot go anywhere. I'll have some pics tonight.

i'm a big fan of the dynapack after spending time at Eurospeed Performance ( http://www.eurospeedperformance.com )
it's really a handy thing..and setting the car up is easy and fast. and you take out all risk of something screwing up.
Jdogg has a LOT of expierence with them if you ever have any questions or anything...
but good luck wiht teh dyno, and good decsion on teh brand!

looks good..congrats. Just a quick question about the hub adaptors. Are they universal for all types of vechiles?? ie...4 bolt, 5 bolt or do you purchased all of them seperately?

After tuning on one, I was able to tune the partial throttle maps in 1/2 the time as on the street. They are def. a huge time saver.

They come with 4 and 5 bolt hub adapters included in the price. If you need something custom made its extra.

JeffIt's a good machine. Make sure you get those cooling hoses going though. Also, it's best to have two people on each side to yank them off. Tends to warm up after a few 400 hp pulls
the more i thought about it today, the more i was amazed about these. think about how much weight and strain must be put on the outer most bearings on the dynapacks. between supporting the weight of the car, and turning at 100+ mph, its amazing they can hold up. just a thought, patiently awaitning the vids.

depending on the drive train layout....isn't the front or rear of the car supported w/ jacks???
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Nope. The hubs are relatively level when everything is attached and ready to make a run. For FWD cars, there's a slight incline but not enough to have any oiling issues in the block or anything. (at least I hope not?)
Besides, when it's rolling at 90-100mph, you want it as stable as possible. I would hate for the car to fall off the jackstands!

The dyno that I've got uses parts that look like big rig drive train parts. If you think about how much a Kenworth weighs, and how much torque it makes, you can imagine how sturdy the dynos that use these types of components can be.

ok since it seems liek theres some knowledgable dyno people in here.
anyone know if i can use our smog dyno to do part throttle tuning? definatly not full throtel cuz it doesnt use water brakes it uses like pads basically.

Damn, that is sick, I'm alredy going over all the stuff I could do with a dyno.
