finally got my coolant issue fixed
ok.. awhile back i posted a thread about coolant spraying from my overflow tank... i had people saying it was a headgasket, people saying headlift was my cause, and even a respectable person telling me it was my radiator cap... well... after narrowing it down.. i decided it was headlift, and went and picked up a set of arp headstuds.
let me just say it was worth the trouble of pulling my head off... my old headgasket was in good shape, nothing visually wrong with it.. and those arp studs torque to 85 ft. lbs... so i dont think headlift will be a problem. had it out last night and she runs great.. no more coolant spraying around. and yes i put a brand new headgasket on it as well..
btw.. the inside of my motor surprised me... super clean... i was told the motor had over 100k on it.. but its nearly spotless... not even any buildup on the pistons.. they are relativly clean...

glad you fixed your problem i am getting ready to do the same thing (arps and a new hg). o and i think i heard somewhere that coolant in the combustion chamber tends to have a cleaning effect. maybe thats what happened with yours. can anyone comfirm that?
