F Max or Drag??
ok im not a big turbo techie so i was wondering whats better?? Teh drag gen 3 or teh Fmax. itll be bolting up to my b16 in an ek. I dont have any tuning skills for a turbo or even a shop in my area. So wich one will be easier? Thanks.
FMAX - their fuel solution = Drag...basically ..the same
the FMAX has the MF2 with additional injectors = (3D fuel adjustment)
IIRC the DRAG raises fuel pressure based on amount of boost (RRFPR) = (2D fuel adjustment)
altough both have their pros and cons, the way to go is with a standalone fuel system. you just have to look at the construction of the kits hardware and decide which is better.

yeah fmax is plug and play. it uses yor stock cat and donut gasket so you dont have to drive open dp to an exhaust shop. altho i wouldnt recommend running yor stock cat/exhaust w/ a turbo for too long.

uhhh, what? the 2 have entirely diffeent fuel systems.

FMAX - (minus) their fuel system = (equals) Drag..
You can order FMAX as a stand alone...I think its a couple of hundred dollars less if you do...
And despite what you may read and hear...FMAX is not 100% plug & play. You need to replace a lot of their little parts ( a nut here, a clamp there, etc) to get proper fitment... I pretty much wound up replacing most of the pipe connectors to get better fitment, but I may be an exceptional case.........

Do the research dude...there are tons of posts on this topic...Look for my posts, as well as Gruuvytune, 00silverls, on FMAX issues and look for people like Dustin, Arturbo on Drag...they (FMAX and DRAG) both have their share of issues...you choose the one that YOU can deal with...don't let others influence you...YOU DO THE RESEARCH AND YOU DO THE DECIDING...that way, you know what's right for you.
im just trying to get feedback from actual users ive looked at what both fmax and drag have to offer, now im in the decision making process, i just want pepoles opinions. I just want to know what everyone has dealt with in their purchase instalation and drivability.
get drag. no kit is 100 percent bolt on. I dunno about the gredy, maybe. But when i installed drag, i needed hose clamps, bolts for the intercooler, longer vacume lines, 11/16th socket for oil pressure sensor, welding of dp and oil pan. Its fun though
Yo, dawg.. I dig da one dat makes mah cah go ppsssstt! Naw, yo.. I dont mean like airbagz n' $h!t... I mean like thos whistling valve thangs. Get da one that comes wit da bling bling chrome, bra!
get the fmax kit minus their fuel setup.. and get a hondata or a regulator/intank fuel pump(for low boost.) the quality of the fmax kit is lightyears beyond the drag kit. it might cost just a little more.. but the manifold won't crack.. the i/c pipes are bead rolled.. everything is tig welded.. the exhaust actually bolts up to the stock cat.. etc.. etc.. etc..
Everyone say to buy one of the kits and then go hondata. Well your basically throwing out half the **** that comes with the kits when you get the hondata.
I say, go custom. If you add it up, it will be cheaper. Plus you get exactly what you want.
Its not hard.
Manifold, turbo, downpipe, hondata, intank pump, fuel injectors, intercooler, charge piping, bov, anplumbing.com, gauges, hardware, dyno time.

what do i do at teh dyno, like i said im a newbie at turbo
See what I mean...you asked...and now you're gonna get a 1000 different opinions. I like my F-MAX, but I didn't like the fuel solution it came with and I am going stand alone in a week or so. Like I said earlier...they are both pretty good, but not without their faults...Just do the search like I told you, find out what what the faults are, and then decide...(best advice anyone could give you...trust me)
