Soak it before you install it, makes a 10x better product in the end.

Am I the only one that caught that? 25' means 25 feet, not 15.

Either way, wrap doesnt go near as far as you think it does, especially with a 3" diameter, you eat up aprox 10" of wrap per round, so unless your downpipe is very short you will be cutting it close

100 feet of 2" wrap is only $30 shipped on ebay, why not has some extra? Pretty cheap to have some extra, and it gets damaged pretty easily and is almost a wear item, 30 bucks is cheap to be coverred

And definitely do NOT soak the DEI wrap. Dry and tight only, almost a must to install it off the car

Yeah my fault that was typo lol glad you caught it though. Ebay has DEI wrap on ebay for 30 bucks for a 100 foot roll? Hmm I might have to check that out

Anyone else have crappy experience with heat wraps on their daily

I've wrapped my downpipe and manifold 3-4 times now with DEI Titanium and after a couple of months they get hard and brittle and pretty much just crack off and create a mess

Just read the package, some need soaking so don't.

When I wrapped my DP, I coated it, wrapped it tightly, just fold the top edge and wrap over it, using about 1/2 to 1/4 overlap per pass and then use a screw clamp at bottom to secure it.

I then coated the wrap, not sure if it helped or hurt really but no issues and it's held up 3 years or so.

I have always soked the wrap without issue. It lossens the fibers and when it dies it shinks slightly making the wrap extremely tight. I use mechanics wire on mine personally. Function>form i simply find it holds it better

Soaking the wrap rusts the metal extremely quick if your not dealing with a high quality stainless and stainless welding wire.

I personally am cheap and change setups alot so mild steel is very appealing. I can wrap it very tight with my hands, dont see a reason to soak

The DEI titanium series is very good stuff, a black or carbon grey wrap would be preferable, white stains very easily. I find the motorcycle community to have high quality wraps on ebay for great prices, mostly sold in 100' lengths. Made in the USA is key here if you want it to last

Here's mine. Wrapped with dei titanium. Seems like good stuff, but the car isn't finished yet so I really don't have "experience " with it yet. Had to use two 15' rolls n still fell short as u can c in the pic.
